Just not true. But if it makes you guys feel better to think it is, then go for it.

Maybe he didn't tell you. The corporate transition team member also said Kelly told Linden the operations would not be combined if the SLI goes to arbitration.

Did your MEC Chairman tell you that little nugget? Sure you know, but have either of you told the membership or your LEC? I do not miss ALPA at all.

In that case, why not ask for a permanent staple for all of the airtran pilots. All future new hires will go above any AAI pilot. Sounds like you have nothing to lose.

You have a Merry Christmas too!

And that is exactly why the pilots at Airtran are looking forward to being represented by the PILOTS of SWAPA working for the pilot group at SWA. We get "politcal wannabees" who are more interested in their own career than the careers of their pilots. Airtran pilots could not have asked for a better merger committee to represent them. Political infighting has left this pilot group with a lack of leadership. (Not that there was much to start with.) Many of our committees are staffed with volunteers that go above and beyond taking care of the pilot group. We are looking forward to being part of a team that is supported by management and by the union and not left to "fly it and grieve it."

The aai pilots should make this a done deal. Get on swa property and start realising the benefits of the swa contract by mar/apr. This is a huge deal for the swa pilots; don't miss the opportunity to get onto the swa contract asap. Don't miss this opportunity!!

No kidding. Take the staple and count your lucky stars. I don't see any trannie pilot not voting happily for a staple as opposed to never being integrated. Those are probably the only two choices. If I were running SWA that's what I would offer, knowing full well it would overwhelmingly be accepted.

Take the Relative Seniority and be thankful
For International flying and more growth and
Upgrade potential.

Pay your dues and upgrade when
Your seniority can hold the
Left seat.

And Welcome to the "New and
Improved Southwest"

I don't work for SWA. Just an impartial observer watching in amazement/amusement while certain trannies try to throw away their winning lottery ticket.

Sundowner,
The AAI pilots don't have any way to expedite this process. The DOCC has to happen first. Secondly, the way I understand it SWA and SWAPA have to agree on a transitional agreement. I could be wrong on that one but I believe ALPA isn't part of those talks. Finally the SLI will take place. Until then it is out of our hands. We all want this thing to be done asap. Until then we live in perpetual uncertainty.

Dude, you need to get yourself a carbon monoxide detector for your C152 or whatever POS of you really fly, because you're exhibiting some of the classic symptoms of long-term CO poisoning.

Yeah . . . I'm sure that's what GK said. Who really needs the $400 million in increased earnings from combining operations, anyway?

Gary can get close to the $400 million by codesharing the two networks together without combining the operations. He can't do that without Swapa approval because we have industry leading scope. He can continue to grow SWA and feed it with AirTran 717's flown by AirTran pilots on their subpar contract, work rules and wages. I would think Gary would be open to this idea if the alternative was dealing with a bunch of AirTran trouble and 5800 pissed off Swapa pilots. If any of the previous stated rumors are true it looks like he may be positioning himself for that eventuality.

I agree. It seems unlikely that they would risk an integration. Why not just run it as two and offer preferential interviews to some trannies for a SWA number?
