I can't take this anymore....really! Airtran needs to go away into history now. It has been a place of Eastern scabs and Lorenzo retreads long enough. Talk about Stockholm Syndrome.

Uh yeah right. Sorry bro good luck. If you really are a Union Thug don't
Think you'd be romantizing one of Frank Lorenzo's LT's.

It's not romanticizing. You're simply immature. It's not necessary to have a deep seated hatred for the people you bargain against, and it is possible to see some redeeming qualities in them, even when much of their behavior is undesirable. SK was far, far from perfect, and his old school techniques hurt a lot of people. But there are far worse people to deal with in labor relations.

Either way I wish you the best!

Ditto.

Maybe we should.

I know that wasn't the only guy fired unjustly. So hostage taking and unjust firings were kinda the norm on the AirTran side. It's not at all that way at SW, thank God.

Eh, not quite. It happened, but it was the exception rather than the norm. In reality, getting fired from AirTran took a hell of a lot. There were two big exceptions, and those were the hostages in '08. Neither of them were the guy mentioned earlier who went to the rally in uniform. He only got a suspension.

Spider-Man and Superman both managed to keep their jobs, however Spider-Man might have been on his way out if he didn't go to Dubai. The go-around king of RDU got canned, so did another guy in Vegas for no good Reason. Someone got a second chance and blew it. Someone else liked to blow it. There were a few pseudo-firings that lasted a week or so. Everyone else got their job back...from what I can remember.

Wrong. We had a contract, nimrod. Didn't need any federal legislation, although it is nice legislation to protect those without the necessary contractual protections.
When your company ceases to exist, your contract doesn't mean much.

No, he was not fired. You're thinking about someone else. I believe it was a 5 day suspension.
Ok. You got me there. The uniform/circus thing was a different dude.

Yet, here we are, years later, and the company still exists.

From the Mike VdV letter...

Southwest agrees that during the period of separate Pilot operations following close, it will adhere to and apply the provisions of the AirTran/ALPA Agreement to AirTran Pilots, unless and until that Agreement is changed pursuant to the Railway Labor Act

Sure right!

Why don't all you ALPA guys get together and vote out ALPA in place of SWAPA, you going there sooner or later. Less dues?

The decision is ultimately SWAPA's. If ALPA files with the NMB and SWAPA objects, it's unlikely that the Board will grant ALPA's request.

And why would Swapa object PCL?

(I think PCL stands for self fulfilled prophecy)

And why would Swapa object PCL?

From what I hear, SWAPA has indicated less than zero interest in representing the AirTran pilots until they're on the SWA side of the partition. I'm sure it has something to do with DFR concerns.

Maybe bc you just sued them?

Are you ever responsible for anything over there PCL?
