Yea, I've never seen anything that harsh on the Southwest side.

We have.

Wasn't a guy fired for dropping his family off at a rally while he happened to be in uniform?

No, he was suspended for a few days. The union covered his pay, and the suspension was overturned later.

No you haven't. You would be out of a job if the government teet didn't provide you one at SWA after your company was bought. Funny how no one seems to understand the completely socialist aspect of this. Be thankful a couple of useless senators GAVE you seniority at SWA. If you were in any other business, you would be out of work because of it.

Define "a few days." And you're saying he wasn't fired? Should we pull up the posts from when it happened?

Not that I can remember. He was a hard negotiator, and he certainly used old-school tactics, but when you had a deal with him, you had a deal. If he was going to screw you over, he just told you to your face that he was going to screw you over. No bait-and-switch. The same wasn't true of other AirTran managers, who definitely changed their "interpretation" after the fact, but not with SK.

Yeah well those managers worked for him and I don't believe for a sec that he wouldn't bait and switch. Think that guy pretty much would do anything.

Look I feel bad about how things went down for you guys, I really do. But it's better to take a bit of ownership for what happened and quit deflecting it on everyone else like SWA, SWAPA, Steve Chase, AirTran pilots, MC pilots etc..... Probably left a few off here so sorry in advance.

"Pilots like to think they're special people, they're not. Their contribution to the success of AirTran is no greater than that of anyone else" - Stephen Kolski, Atlanta Journal Constitution.

It wasn't long after that when the 9kt taxiing started and APU usage increased.

Is there a letter out there from SWA to the DOT saying the 717 will be parked by 2015? If so where can I view a copy?

From an Airline Pilot Central forum post:

"The transition of these aircraft to Delta started in July of 2013, and will continue through January 2015. At which time, any remaining aircraft are planned to be removed from revenue service until they are transitioned to Delta."
