What kind of things do they ask over the phone? Tech or HR type things?

They asked really simple stuff like:

How are you involved with aviation?

Do you have your CFII/MEI?

Where do you see yourself in 2 years?

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

What prompted your to apply to airnet?

Where did you find out about airnet?

Anyhow thats how I remember the interview. Simple, and Zeus was pretty laid back.

Seems like they are trying to find people who are easy to get along with and then they will figure out who can fly later...

They also asked;
What stresses you out?
Do you mind flying a high performance twin, single pilot IFR at night?
Do you have access to a Frasca 142...they recommended 10 hrs prep!
Can we contact your employer?
What is your favorite plane you would like to fly?

Uhhhhh yeah, i'd like to fly the uhhhh 75 and maybe even the uhhhh 74 some day*.... (then complete silence from the other end as the interviewer finally comes to after passing out in complete amazement at such a bad answer):D Don't say dumb things like that ok, answer with one of our planes to have a better shot.

*read that in the best re-enactment of the line from "Just Married" as Brittany (yummy) Murphy mocks Ashton as they arrive in Europe driving the little Bingo as he wishes he had the Dodge right about now.

I wonder...would it be better to say LR35...or a real "dream aircraft"...like a DC-6.

Since the interview seems to be geared towards personality.

But I guess you are in good shape as long you don't blurt out RJ!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a good answer for the "where do you see yourself in 2 years/10 years" question? I mean if you planned on staying with the company for a while the answer would be obvious but lets say that after a few years you wanted to move on... would mentioning this hurt your chances of getting invited out?

As for the what plane would you like to fly I said" Who wouldnt want to fly a G5"
I answered all questions on my own, not what they want to hear.

What ever happened to just answering with your own answer, and being yourself. The interviewers can see through fakes.

I JUST GOT THE CALL!!!!!! I spoke to a guy (damnit i cant remember his name cause i was blown away that they actually called me) and we had a good conversation. Afterwards he told me that his computer had just crashed on the spot and he wanted to write my name down. He then went to get off the phone and said that if i didnt hear from them in a week to call them back. Is this a good sign??

I'd say it was a good sign.

I love working at Airnet. Apparently USC328 did as well, because 6 months after he leaves he still can't stop posting about us! Do give honest answers on any of the interviews(phone or personal), but know that saying you hope to move to a regional as soon as possible isn't the strongest response. Then again, if you are cooooooool enough to want to apply here, you wouldn't want to wear that stupid hat anyways! Good luck.

I got the call today too!!!

Phone interview today, seemed to have gone very well.... I have no regional aspirations, personally would rather fly corporate and when I said so, the guy mentioned JetRide and I told him that I was definitely interested!!! Anyway, all the above posts are right on, I can't think of any additional questions that they left out..... It was a very casual conversation, no tech elements..... Hope I get the next call!!!

Damn they didn't ask me about that. I would have said PC-6 the Pilatus Porter.

Delaying Class Start Date

So here I go again being over confident of myself, assuming I've got the job once I apply.

My spouse and I have been talking about making the move should I get hired and our current lacking of financial preparation. If I just went a head and applied as soon as practicable and I did get hired on to start just before we were financially ready for me to stop working for 6 weeks, would they allow me to defer my class start date to the next class start date? It doesn't sound professional to do it that way, but I just wanted to throw the question out anyway.

Thanks

(P.S. I'm still waiting for a smiley face that's picking its nose at someone)

It's been a while since I went through our hiring process, but I can't imagine it has changed much since then. To answer your question........... go ahead and ask, I would. They want your full attention when you in training and if they have invited you, they must like you.

Hey guys, post here if you get called back for an interview. Seems that we all got the phone interview the same night, so maybe we will all get invited the same night?

135 Min

Maybe I'm still just way too virgin to the industry, but maybe someone can help clear this up for me. I've been going through 135.243(c) as posted in the FAQ on airnet. I've also been reading all the way through the section and here is where my confusion sets in. Is this just their posted Min's or is airnet 135, because reading the section it sounds like it only pertains to passenger carrying operations.

Zues just called and invited me to interview on January 11..... Gonna do some sim prep on 10th..... Best of luck to the rest of you guys!!!

Paragraph A only deals with turbojets and commuter operations. B and C are the minimum PIC requirements for 135, regardless of what's in the back. Airnet is 135, so all of their PICs must comply with paragraph C (assuming all of their operations are IFR).

hey what is website for Airnet? I can not google it for some reason....thanks in advance

Congrats!!!!! still hopin they call me here, its been longer than you had to wait though... wonder if thats a bad sign or if im just jumpin the gun.

If you have 750TT they probably will not contact you till you have some more, and update your resume on their site a few times...someone that works there, chime in if i'm wrong.

well not that its a huge difference, but im actually at 820 ish right now. I update every 1 - 2 weeks also. I figure if its anything its that though, my time being to low that is. Oh well all i can do is keep on chuggin!

I got an interview!!!! I called Craig Washka today and asked him how my phone interview went, he put me on hold and came back and said I was on the list to call!! Then i spoke to Bill White for a few minutes and was told I'd receive a phone call today with an interview date, and if I didnt hear from him by 3 to give him a call back.

I will let you guys know when my date is!

Congrats Bro..... Maybe I will see you next week!!!

MrPink1911 - I was hopin so too, but Bill White tried his hardest to get me in last minute for monday/tuesday but he couldn't. He called today and said they would like to bring me in for an interview on the 19th of the month. Oh well at least i got a spot and now i have time for preparation!! Let us all know how your face-to-face goes!!

i will give you the blow by blow and probably post something on aviationinterviews.com if its something really different than what's posted there already..... i have this interview on wednesday, and then with cape air and airnow next week..... along with studying for atp written, busy times ahead..... wishin' everyone the best of luck, i still believe there is enough work out there for everyone!!!

Ok, had the interview today..... could have been better, could have been worse..... go on aviationinterviews.com and the gouge on there is pretty much spot on, vor-a into newark-heath and ils28l at port columbus, ai failure, engine failure both inflight and on take off roll..... the written is pretty easy, some questions are written oddly. the talk with the CP is ok, know the airplane you have been flying, i f-ed up and forgot that the a/c i have been flying had O-360s.... felt sorta like an idiot, brain fart i guess..... but they said i would get a thumbs up or down by the end of the week..... my impression of the operation though was good, super facility in columbus, nice folks, and i could be a place you could make your home for a while rather than a place where you get your time and leave..... hope this helps, good luck to you all!!!
