This is still a heated topic, thanks for keeping it civil here. Yes there are a few members who view interaction here as sport, the ignore list is useful, if you can do not compare members in their closeness to trolls, it is redundant.

HVD gets it, let's move on, remember whose idea this was (initials GK)...

I understand the angst about seniority loss, but your MEC should have taken the first deal...it would have passed both sides....

First you say move on....then you toss in "you should've done this".

Grow up dude.

MP,

You are correct, it is important to stay non-reactionary on this issue...that was a cheap shot in reaction to comments made earlier in the thread...

Tri,

You can't even keep your pants on for this thread, that is about as much proof needed to do what they did on our forum. Geez...move on. Stand behind your post my a$$. More like looking for a fight cause there isn't anything else to do but piss on someone's leg. Go get a hobby or take up Yoga or anything except your pissing and moaning here and over there.

Speaking of heated debates, rumor has it there was a fight in Dallas between an Airtran pilot and a SWA pilot. I have heard new hire party, or a banquet...either way it sounds like it was bad enough to get the cops involved. If that is true (and I have already heard it from more than one source), then that is just despicable. I hope the 10% knuckle heads on both sides don't make this more painful than it already is for the rest of us.

God knows I've never said or done anything stupid after a couple (or more) drinks. Hopefully they get counseled and have learned their lesson.

Re read my posts and please give me a specific example of me "looking for a fight", or pissing on someone's leg.

I stated my opinion about the forum dump and why I thought it was a bad idea. No fight, no trolling, no leg pissing, no nothing.

That's your M.O. ;)

I've since changed my mind on the subject, and in the interest of putting this past us, think it was the right thing to do.

I hope they put the rest of it back up, because there was a lot of good info on there, that would benefit both Former AT folks as well as SW types.

I'll look into the Yoga.....

Speaking of hobbies, your man crush on me is getting creepy.

Dicko, it's time to get rid of the unicorn;)

Maybe you're right Tex. But ..... Since we're already talking metaphors - The current 'thorn in our sides' is the 15% - 20 cut AirTran pilots have received from their current pay. It reminds us everyday that being bought means a pay cut for 3 years. That's a long time.

Our lines have been slashed to around 70 hours with little or no ability to make up the time. Everybody is making a guarantee of between 75 and 78 hours.

Imagine what would happen if SWAPA pilots were told they'd be making guarantee for the next 3 years ?

Then why haven't you stated such on the SWAPA forum or the Pprune?

I guess bashing SWAPA at every opportunity is much more fun?

Hey I fell your pain. My QOL is more important than money, so 1300 AT pilots injected in front of me is also a thorn in my side. So we all feel it one way or the other.

On a serious note, do you think they might pickup with the additional intl flying coming and intra Texas flying?

I don't think so.

If I were you I'd be more worried about being in contract negotiations while there's an entire low cost/B Scale airline doing your flying for you. There may be a lot of fingers pointed toward Atlanta, coming to a negotiating room near you.

Rather than seeing parking and uniform costs addressed in section 6, I would like to see the 737 type requirement go away.
I would rather not see SWAPA spend negotiating capital on making the 737 type go away as that would have no benefit to any pilot already at SWA or AirTran.

Uhm, parking and uniform reimbursement, is housekeeping and minor. Addressing turn times in the 800 is a much greater issue, that can result in a loss of productivity of thousands, not a few hundred bucks a year.

LMAO! look at that furry bas@#$! Crap that made my day!

I know what you are saying about the whole b scale. We have done all we can to help the company and we are waiting for the company to execute. We have done our part. I personally will not sign off on a extension of the transition. Side letter 8 is still in play.

Sounds like it is just a IT issue. We the pilots have done our part.:)

You worked for a regional airline , just like me.

Really? What were you smoking when you wrote that? Our 2nd year FO's make Reg Capt pay. Compare the work rules and pay rates from either of our last 2 contracts. Half the pilots we have on our list left regional Capt jobs (not me) to become AT FO's...wonder why that is? If you say we were not SWA, or that our management sucked and was not labor friendly then I'd agree with both. I hope a random drug test is in your future...just sayin.

Can you say furloughs...that is what I would expect from SWA if the mainline was getting paid guarantee for any length of time......I have only been paid guarantee once (in FEB09 or 10)...

Sometimes it feels good to give. I look forward to the day when the type requirement goes away. If I can expedite it's departure I would. Call it my charitable contribution to future SWA pilots ;-)

I think by default it should go away. Should new hires get a 717 type in 2015? Welcome multi aircraft fleet.

Half ur pilots ? So how about the other half . As for pay I have not looked at it since Southwest bought AirTran. It must have changed .
