Age 60
I know most are happy about the age 60 staying, but lets take a look of some of the past. Airlines had a rule that cut off anyone over 30 to be hired, male only ect. those have been corrected and rightly so. The Mid East still has age 35 upper limit on age(with 1500 hr. jet pic) for FO jobs. The EU now has 65 as max age,Australian rule is no upper age as many other countries. Next month I can give a check ride or an IOE to a pilot that has never been in the real aircraft before, but on the 23rd of the month I will be flying part 91,135 or 125 in the same airspace, but not allowed to sit in the pilot seat of a 121 aircraft. I do think that gender, race and yes age should not be a player. Go ahead and flame me. Did I know the rules before I got on? Yes,but several years ago I flew with a pilot that was hired in 1957 and he was looking foward to 65. Mobs
