Wow shootie, looks like you need another round of that anger management class huh?
Calm down shootie.......take a deep breath. Really, try the decafe stuff, it helps.
Good post! You are right on target.ABX did tell DHL prior to the public release. It was told to us in the hangar talks that was part of the delay and schedule conflict. It was to meet in Plantation to give them advanced notice. Don't believe all the DHL hates ABX talk you hear from Astar. DHL is a company that only cares about DHL. While you can see that the DHL people used to work with the Astar people by better treatment, DHL's parent company does not have that cord problem.
ABX cares about DHL business and does what it should for it. Sure you don't see the butt kissing like Astar and DHL share but if it were as bad as some make it sound DHL would not be fighting Astar on this whole scope thing. They would just give it to Astar if they were that deep in bed together and not waste all this money fighting it. As long as ABX provides the superior service we are known for, we should always be part of the DHL network. Even if Astar wants to kill us off, it's just not their call.
Hope you get a class and look forward to working w/you.
p.s. I forgot to add: That the CC did say they were going to keep the airlines separate at this time and it may remain so for ever. But when they talk about reducing costs that is hard to do by pitting the pilots against on another if they all work together (if possible) like many talk about on this board. My guess is the reduction of the fat on the top operating structures of all the companies. There is just a lot of double/triple jobs that can be streamlined. At least thats how I looked at it so take that for what its worth. The pilots fate truly does lie in the hands of the pilots of the 3 groups. I'm the one that should be worried more so than any crew.:erm:

Point 1) DHL can not just roll over and "give" Astar the flying even if they wanted to. They would have a ABX stock holders revolt and class action lawsuit against them. At the financial CC just prior to the deal by DHL for ABX, the question was raised about our contract/scope language and is that an obstacle. The answer given by the speaker for DHL was "We see no legal obstacle to this deal going forward."
And it's not butt kissing. It's a shared history going back to 1969. DHLAirways was not only the airline but also the ground ops all in one company. Our airline was spun off to satisfy the law and our name changed because the legal minds and congress people couldn't keep it all straight during the citizenship hearings
Point 2) At the last late night hanger meeting, Joe was quoted saying that his goal is to capture ALL the DHL flying in the Americas. So I ask you, who is trying to kill off who here. We have stated all along that it is not our intention to take ABX pilot jobs. There is language in our scope clause for financial means to settle a scope dispute. Our goal was and still is, to defend our CBA and side letter which we negotiated for and gave things up for.
Point 3) Hey, if push comes to shove and you get the shove, you could always get a job with us. At least our dispatchers our organized. Teamsters even.![]()

reoint 1) I don't understand what you are trying to say here. At one pint you say DHL can't give you anything, then you say you are DHL just the name has changed. I can't keep up with the double talk. But you are more than welcome to keep trying if you want.
reoint2) I did not hear J.Hete say that, but I did not attend the last meeting. Either way, you do not see the ABX employees become hostile to Astar employees when something good happens for Astar. Why is it EVERY SINGLE DARN TIME something good happens for ABX its the same crap from the same people that are just itching to put down ABX? Why can you people just not be happy for someone else for a change? Why are you all always so bitter towards ABX no matter what comes their way? There could be a note saying all ABX employees will get a chocolate chip cookie with their paychecks this week and the same darn'ole fools will go on to every stinking forum site and post something that DHL has better cookies and Astar is getting them. LET IT FREAKIN' BE ALREADY! DANG!
reoint3) Thanks for the invite. I have played golf w/a few of your Dispatchers and they are nice guys and would not mind working with them. However, you have one of our rejects that we were happy to part with and I have NO intention of working with that kook again. We threw a party the AFTER their last day if you know what I mean.
p.s. I worked with a few of your Mx controllers too. Good guys. I know one came to KILN, I don't know about the other. I need to drop by and see who made the move and who parted ways.
>There could be a note saying all ABX employees will get a chocolate chip cookie with their paychecks this week<
Hey! You guys get Cookies? OK, NOW I'm pis*ed!![]()
Gee shootie, you sure are an angry little man. What's up with that?
We've been told that should any of our cookies show "Property of DHL" written in sugar icing that we're to promptly hand them back in without compensation for redistribution to you fellas. Something about scope.
No no no! No sugar icing! I want the chocolate chip cookie shooter was talking about!![]()
Fair enough hvy, licking the icing off before handing them in it is then. Tacky and lacking in etiquette I know, but what else could one possibly expect from a bunch of freight dogs?
