Clearly disgruntled about the SLI and will most likely never recover from it. He might actually be happier someplace else. And in that regard, very similar to PCL.

Pick any one of the questions that I posted above and postulate on how any of them have anything to do with the SLI? Maybe some "new" insight may exactly what the company needs (as evidenced in the movement of FAT personnel into a variety of positions.) I would rather choose to hold mgmt accountable for the choices that they make that result in a crappy product and cost the airline customers. I do not choose to leave the profession that I have chosen. My position in the SLI is something that I have accepted and moved on from. That has no bearing upon what I posted above.

"But throughout SWA's history there have flat out been pilots that aren't a good fit for SWA and didn't like or enjoy how we do things."..................

Do you enjoy being rated towards the bottom of the list for on time performance?
Do you enjoy having a terrible baggage handling rate?
Do you enjoy screwing over your "business class" customers that pay extra to board first, only to find the "through" customers have taken the seat?
Do you enjoy the way that gk and vdv have dragged their feet with negotiations?
Do you enjoy a DH in an Evolve interior?
Do you enjoy the emasculation of the Captain's authority?
Do you enjoy day dreaming about 15 minute turns in the good ole days?

Are you willing to go running off a cliff like a bunch of lemmings because you "like and enjoy" how you do things at SWA?

I would prefer to face the reality of the situation that SWA is faced with and ensure that the airline is around for the next 15-20-25 years. Sorry if that assaults your myopic view of SWA.

Actually, I can find very little in this post to disagree with.

The wheels are falling off the bus, and I'm very concerned about the future too.

Here, I'll take a stab at it...

"But throughout SWA's history there have flat out been pilots that aren't a good fit for SWA and didn't like or enjoy how we do things."..................

Do you enjoy being rated towards the bottom of the list for on time performance?

No, of course not. It's embarrassing, but the pilots ARE working to effect changes. Not you, of course, but some of us are. Other than just bitching in public, that is.

Do you enjoy having a terrible baggage handling rate?

Again, no.

Do you enjoy screwing over your "business class" customers that pay extra to board first, only to find the "through" customers have taken the seat?

This just shows how little you understand what we do. These "business class" customers pay only a little premium over a full fare, and the issue you describe is infrequent (mainly on lines such WA stops where there's a large number of throughs). Generally, with only a few throughs, there's still plenty of choice seats worth paying extra for. Besides, polls have shown that these customers value the extra credit on Rapid Rewards more than anything else they get for their $25-40.

Do you enjoy the way that gk and vdv have dragged their feet with negotiations?

Again, no. But after listening to you guys talk about the way AirTran "dragged their feet" literally for years and years, it's pretty damn funny that you're using this issue to bitch about Southwest.

Do you enjoy a DH in an Evolve interior?

It's okay. There's slightly less legroom for a tall guy like me, but the seats are actually as if not more comfortable. Think Recaro seats vs. standard cushions. They're actually easier to sleep in. Some people complained when they first came out, because they were "different," but we don't get complaints on them anymore.

Do you enjoy the emasculation of the Captain's authority?

Nobody likes this, but it's happening to all airlines. It's mainly a factor of continuity for legal issues in our increasingly litigious society, and companies trying to squeeze more revenue by streamlining operations.

Do you enjoy day dreaming about 15 minute turns in the good ole days?

Hell, no. I prefer a somewhat longer turn time, so that I have time to stretch my legs, get food etc. A compromise between being efficient, and not busting my own balls too much. Not sure what your point here is.

Are you willing to go running off a cliff like a bunch of lemmings because you "like and enjoy" how you do things at SWA?

? Sorry, what are you babbling about here?

I would prefer to face the reality of the situation that SWA is faced with and ensure that the airline is around for the next 15-20-25 years. Sorry if that assaults your myopic view of SWA.

Talk about a myopic view of SWA. You've been here, what, less than a year? And you already have all of the answers? That's pretty funny.

The reason that he (and I and others) relate your ranting to your displeasure over the SLI is that all you've done is complain. That's it. You're unhappy, so you take the most pessimistic view of anything Southwest. (By the way, consistent whining is a overt trait of an unhappy person--that also clues the rest of us in about you). If it makes you feel any better, I'm sorry your life sucks and you're unhappy about it.

Let's see... You exaggerate, complain, denigrate, and just generally whine about "how bad" it is, and "how crappy" our product is at Southwest. Plus, you go out of your way to stick these insults in threads having absolutely nothing to do with your bitchfest towards Southwest. There's another clue. An airline, by the way, that by any measure has been more successful than the one you came from. Do we have problems? Of course. Can we learn from AirTran's procedures and operations? I'm sure we can. But please tell me, "Just Complaining," how what you do can possibly do any good here? Do you really think that publically complaining on an anonymous board, especially in an exaggerated way, will solve anything? Seriously?

The fact of the matter is, that Southwest IS trying to adopt better practices learned from AirTran. FAT people are in the GO in Dallas doing exactly that. If you've got other ideas to help things, then you're more than welcome to submit suggestions for improving absolutely any of our procedures. There's a vehicle specifically created for that on the employee website, and a lot of times, employees' suggestions are adopted.

It's time for you to put up or shut up. If you've got ideas, then work to fix the problems. Submit to the company. Work with the union to push the company. You know--something that will actually help. 'Cause I gotta' say, that your anonymous complaining, exaggeration, and random denigration shtick is getting old. And it's not "the reality of the situation"; it's just sad.

PCL's Mini-Me, if it's possible to Mini-Me that dude.

I have submitted IR's, safety reports, spoken with chief pilots as well as check airman. Even had a quick chat with vdv (respectfully) as he passed through MDW last week. Just get a bit disgusted with the rainbows and unicorns that tend to water down the reality of SWA. I guess if it is not from a RSW pilot then it does not deserve any credence?

Grow up. If you put as much energy into helping solve the problems as you do in bashing SWA it would make a difference. Don't be like PCL and the General where people will start putting you on their ignore list because you just keep saying the same thing every time you post. It really gets old. You are with SWA now, start showing it.

Oh, Lord.

Somebody needs to change Grandpa's diaper.

Every airline (base) has a designated prince of darkness that can eyoore that fun out of anything. We need to get just thinking and beech jet their own column in the reporting points newspaper.
