AA announces recall

I belive it was 44

The memo stated "for those retiring or leaving the company." I don't have a clue how things are at AA. Do you have guys flat out quitting?

The APA website has a list of the retirements and resignations. I believe there were 44 resignations that were not considered early retirements. The was an age sixty retirement column and another coulmn of early retirements, then a resignation column of about 44.

Thats my plan and I don't even need 10, only 6.5 years till I hit 50.

Are you kidding? That would be breaking ranks with 75 years of history!

Good news for all of us, active or furloughed. I was previously saying that it would be two more years before we started seeing recalls because I was fed up with being optimistic. Figures!

I think they came up with 10/month simply because they can't handle more than that at the schoolhouse, what with all the instructors that were let go. As was mentioned previously, they will have to go through about 100/month just to get the 10. We'll see.

To those that come back, welcome! And to those that bypass, can't say I blame you.

I think the 10 number is just a wag because they had to give us SOME number. They will bring back what they need, month to month. Which is good. 'cause I think they'll need more than 10.

Would be great to get some accurate retirement info as if we can assume 500/yr and figure a 3:1 recall ratio... it could be inside of 14 months before they "hire" again..

I don't think it will be a stampede. AA hasn't furloghed a 2-21/2 years. That puts those guys (possibly) in the left seat somewhere else. By the time they get to the early furloughees, I think most will be pretty entrenched somewhere else.

I do think the flowbees will rush back to AA as they are in a good position to do so.
