    Beta and Reverse.

As far as I know, the MV-22 isn't used as a dustoff bird. There are plenty of UH-60's lying around that fill the roll in the area I was in. But, if a bird wants to lend a hand, then by all means the ground commander can send his warrior on a CH-53 (if its the case.)

    G.I. Bill and Flight Training

I'm venturing into the GI bill territory. Is it worth it to go nuts on CFI, CFII and MEI, or go the part 61 route? It's my understand I pay up front and get back %60 of the bill?

    Beta and Reverse.

When they first got here people were nervous, no thanks to all the negative press. Now that reality has set it, people love them. They climb faster than a homesick angel and are pretty much twice as fast as any other chopper we have in the fleet. Pretty much everything Time magazine printed...

    Beta and Reverse.

The Beech 18 thread got me thinking. First, a real man fly's a bird with an R-985 on it, preferably only one. 2 really isn't needed to prove your manhood. But all kidding aside. Someone mentioned that the fitst PT-6 wouldn't go into beta or reverse. Now it's been a few years since ground...

    Embry Riddle students

The problem is that these places teach kids how to pass the commercial ride, not how to fly. I'm not singling out Riddle. But if some premadonna comes spouting that ********************, I will knock his ass out.

    CFII question

Thanks. Thats exactly what I was looking for. I haven't started yet, and can't for another few months, thanks to my local.

    CFII question

I believe the endorsment has expired. My last instrument ride was April of 2004. And two years to May 1st, and I'm about 18 months past the expiration. Currency is the 6-6-6. Or am I wrong?

    CFII question

My IFR has expired, and I'm planning on getting CFI and CFII. My question is simple, am I able to kill to birds with one stone and renew my IFR when I do the CFII ride?

    Part time 135.

I'm just curious. I'm still active duty mil, but I want to get back into the swing of things to be current when I get out. Are there any part time 135 out there in the SoCal area? Is it feasible to fly only on the weekends (135)? Or am I going to have to stick to the CFI thing to get my...

extreme operating temperatures of a c172?

I've flown in the great white north. It'll be fine. We would stop flying at -35 ground temp. The biggest thing is warming the oil before you start, and keeping it warm. Sit there for 30 minutes if you need to. The control surfaces should be fine, however look them over for frost that has...

    College Vs. Regionals

GO TO SCHOOL AND FINISH. I got my first job at 19 right after 9/11. Struggled to get any hours. At 23 with no savings and not much time joined the Marines Corps to finish my degree. Best thing I ever did. While those who joined a regional may have senority, (if I go that route when I get...
