I received a call from ASA today to see if I was still interested in working there. Not surprisingly, some of the people that received offers have moved on to other things and they're just trying to see who's still available.
Anyway, the pool is pretty shallow (around 35 people) and if/when...
Anybody know where I can rent a complex airplane in West Palm Beach? I'm willing to go as far south as Boca and as far north as Stuart. With 5 large airports around here, it's amazing how much difficulty I'm having finding one!
A friend of mine is looking for a piston charter from Denver (preferrably BJC, but APA is ok), to Durango, and then to Cody, WY (and back the same day). Is there somebody in the Denver area that you can recommend? Thank you!
I remember seeing this on Teletunes or something when I was a kid and thought it was really awesome. Always had an aviation connection to me. Here's a link to the vid:

Let's say you're flying a VOR appch at a high altitude airport in Colorado in something like a 172, so your appch speed will be something around 90 kts (category B). The right way to do this would be to get your ground speed to 90 kts. Assuming no wind (TAS = GS), your IAS might be somewhere...

I went there yesterday with some friends and had a blast! They have a superb track layout (brand new) and their karts are in excellent...
I really enjoy flying around friends and family members, and often offer them a chance to try flying the airplane. I'm not a CFI yet, so usually it's just really basic stuff, like let's turn 90 degrees to the right, or turn left until we're aligned with that mountain, etc.
Most of the time I...
I just started flying out here, and haven't figured that out yet. Why are there 3 VORs (DVV, DEN, FQF) in close proximity to KDEN? I also noticed that there are no low altitude airways from DEN VOR for some reason. Thanks to anybody that can educate me on this...
But we have to act intelligently. Here's another well written article from Peter Huber that goes against the current peak hype:

I currently work in the energy industry and am amazed at the hype, hysteria, and overall...
I apologize for clogging FI with yet another oil post, but I thought this warranted its own post...
Out of all the stuff I've seen lately, this actually sounds sane and devoid of hype:

JF, what's your opinion?
In "Celebration" of oil hitting $75 today, I decided to make a bunch of gross assumptions and see how much the oil companies might profit related to our price increases. Here's a simple calc (USA only, sorry Euros!):
Let's assume:
-200 million people drive per day
-Each drives 30 miles/day...
