But we have to act intelligently. Here's another well written article from Peter Huber that goes against the current peak hype:

I currently work in the energy industry and am amazed at the hype, hysteria, and overall disinformation regarding coal and nuclear. There have been tremendous leaps in technology regarding environmental standards in power generation in the past decade. You guys know how badly the media screws up aviation? Well they do the same with the power industry.

Another interesting link regarding power generation:

Just educate yourselves on both sides and don't become swayed by the hype!

Nice articles.

Nuclear power will make a big comeback in the future. It's ridiculous that nuclear isn't seen as green energy? The environmentalists need to wake up.

Future coal should definitely be done with clean-coal technologies. Unfortunately I've seen where only about 10% of future coal plants in the works are supposed to be using clean-coal technologies. There is a big market right now for the carbon after they sequester it right now too. It can be used to enhance oil recovery.

We are maxed out in our natural gas production in North America. The U.S. even imports a lot of their natural gas from Canada right now. Canada has also maxed out their natural gas production and they use the natural gas now for tar sands oil production. Canada is building LNG(Liquified natural gas) import facilities. Why aren't we building them in the U.S.? NIMBY's (Not in my back yard b.s.) Nobody wants one. It's ridiculous.

Canada is building nuclear power plants to seperate the oil from the tar sands now. This will free up some natural gas.

In the U.S. like that article says we need to get natural gas off the power grid.

Natural gas is too valuable as a transportation fuel.
