Since UPS is a CASS airline, I was hoping to use UPS to get home in the future. But I don't know where to look up their flight schedule(s). Does anyone know if there is a web site to look up their flight schedule to assist with jumpseat planning?
Actually there are 436 CAL pilots still on furlough, 297 (ish) of those are at express. If you want to include the 112 as well, CAL needs to "recall" 548 pilots to get everybody back. These 240 will not even keep present staffing levels for next summer when you include those who will medical...
Congrats on getting hired!!
I'm not sure how they do it, but XJT has had a talent for picking guys/gals that you'll enjoy flying with. While the pay may not be there (yet), at least you'll enjoy being with your crew at work.
With the 13% block hour increase for 2004 we will probably have to...

"FedEx Invites 737 Conversion Bids"
BRENDAN SOBIE / SINGAPORE
Specialists vie for work to convert up to 50 aircraft
Boeing 737-300/400 cargo conversion suppliers are responding to a request for proposals (RFP) from FedEx Express for 25 aircraft...
Rumor in the EWR crew room today was that they would start "slow" at about 30 pilots a month to see where there gaps in the training etc (we haven't had new hires for awhile), and then slowly ramp up to around 60 a month like before. In 2004 alone we are supposed to grow 22-26% in ASMs and a...
How is the Paris FLying covered?
Subic is a domicile, but CDG is not. Is the A300 CDG flying junior or senior. I was reading about the Special International Basing Authority (?) but is that a senior gig or a junior gig? FedEx is a dream job for me, but with my wife being British, the European...
Richard,
I'm sorry that your class of furloughs were not given the choice to COLA since later classes did. As for express, we were always told that "oh ya we expect everyone to want to come back." However, due to the treatment of the pilots at the initial furlough, being furloughed for almost...
Not entirely true. You were offered a position at express, and then were too junior to hold a position at express based upon date of hire at CAL. Since express had to furlough over 390 of it's own pilots to absorb your CAL bretheren - and so you were then furloughed from express. Have you...
It's really confusing how they integrated the furloughs, but her's a snap shot. (Note: All pay rate examples below are from 10/01/01 effective dates of contract 1997, contract 2002 still being negotiated at both airlines, retro-checks yet to be deterimend per the yet to be closed CBA)
All CAL...
Also note, Continental only takes as many jumpseaters as they have jumpseats! In other words, only count on one. Some 737 have two (but not too many), as does the 757, 767, 777. However, # jumpseats on aircraft = # of jumpseaters.
However, ExpressJet (Continental Express) will take as many...
The information I was quoting was from Aircraft Commerce Magazine, and if they have their information wrong then I stand corrected. My understanding of the ariticle was total cubic feet tonnage comparison, including the 757's belly cargo. Whether that's a viable comparison or not should be...
I read in Aircraft Commerce about two months ago (http://www.aircraft-commerce.com under freight - the whole article I can't post because it was a second hand magazine so I don't have online access) that the problem is apples and oranges.
Their argument was that the 737-300 could carry more...
Ok, here's a dumb question:
Where do you park when you go on a trip. I know that that you can pick any airport. For argument sake call it ABC airport, where do you park? Does Flight Options pick up the tab? Or are you responsible for paying for the parking out of your per diem? Or is...
As for the source, it's posted on the Flight Options Web Page - so I take it that it's realitively safe guess they're getting them.
So here's my question to the flight Options Guys:
How are things? I sent in my app in six months ago, and not that I really expected to get a response since it's...
Hello,
To all space constrained pilots, I'm looking into droping my 6+lb laptop for a new iPaq or HP Journada, but I'm wondering about their functionality. All I really want to do is check my e-mails and reply to them while on overnights. Possibly check the web for a minute or two while...
I might be wrong, but here's what I see as the difference.
1) People who fly A LOT (1/2 to 1/4 share people)- want lower hourly rates, up front cost not a big deal because they're pretty well off anyway. So pay more up front, and have lower hourly costs. Makes that quick flight out to BFE...
