TZ, you are pretty much spot on. We haven't seen the numbers yet, but I hear 3rd qtr numbers exceeded what even THEY thought we were going to make. My guess was between 75-100Mill net profit for the year. I'll take it...I'm also in the thought process that a merger is definitely in the near...
No tantrum Wave. You made it sound like you worked here and once you moved on....everyone Virgin was bad etc.
As far as the F/C thing...Yeah, it pisses me off and I don't like it! I want it changed as much as everyone else here...unfortunately we have a spineless CEO and he thinks the rule...
Redflyer...yeah, kind of moving things on the books to look better for IPO, but I believe they pushed too far! We are dying for planes and turning business down due to the lack of planes. I understand why they did it, but they pushed em out too far. Starting June 2015, we begin taking 1 about...
Howard, I agree....hence the reason we keep winning the awards and this year will be good for us. A lot of things have changed for the better...lower rates on planes, loans etc. Going to be very good for us in the profit area.
Juan...more like JB on MEGA Steroids! We have forced them to...
Well, everyone can beat their chests and cry foul...whatever! We got the gates, everyone will make their money and things will move on.
I find it funny how someone that used to work at Virgin is now condemning us for coming into LUV. Wave, we were good for you to keep you current until you...
VX is going to be just fine flying out of LUV. Case in point, look at what United tried to do to us in EWR with their 17 flts a day, double points and low ticket prices.....UAL lost their Ass and VX has one of its best cities it has ever opened. Tickets are high priced and all is good...
Redflyer,
I agree. It is just business and I believe that there is enough for both companies to make a profit and keep revenues up. I believe that SWA has bigger fish to fry rather than VX. You guys have a lot of great things coming up for your company....the Itnl flying out of HOU is one I...
What's really funny about this whole deal is that GK is on record saying that they don't NEED more than 16 gates. And now that little ole Virgin wants to come into his "Monopoly" on the down town market...he is all up in arms. Now THAT is a Joke!
I believe he KNOWS that once his frequent...
GK isn't going to be able to do anything! The DOJ has already said that if the city tries to give the gates to anyone BUT VX, they along with VX and AA will sue the city of Dallas. Not sure they want to get into that kind of mess.
As far as GK making us pay, he will have to be careful...
We look forward to your Southern Hospitality at Luv. ;)
And Scoreboard, we already turned a yearly profit for 2013, good to see you pay attention. It's only going to get better on the cash flow front, especially with IPO coming this year.
Now onto getting ALPA on the property and getting...
Actually Scarlet, those prices are just the beginning! First Class is selling out like hotcakes (at high ticket prices) and the prices will be healthy for both airlines. Of course, SWA won't be able to compete with our level of service, but its all good.
Competition is good for all, right? ;)
Already had multiple city councilmen state that they were voting for VX to get the gates. And the DOJ already said that if anyone BUT VX gets the gates, they will block it.
Sorry SWA! ;)
See ya'll in the Luv Funny papers. :D
And don't forget LAZ and DCA! ;) We will most likely add more cities in the future as more planes come on line. It will be a Fantastic market for us and the consumer. Interesting how VA is "Legally" the only carrier allowed to bid on the gates (i.e. deal with AA) and yet, the city officials...
Sucks that we don't put you up during training, but what a lot of us did was bunk up with other trainee's either in the Red Roof or there may be some crash pads with vacancies...usually $250-300 a month.
Once you get online, just under 4K a month while on reserve. That of course if before...
Broke.......UA can't match VA Period! Our product is SUPERIOR and our FA's kick arse. You cannot get those geriatric inflight at UA to do more than one service on a 6 hr transcon. UA's plan to dump flights on the SFO-EWR-SFO has cost them hundreds of millions and believe me, we (VA) are...
If he did, that just goes to show the Blue group just how much he thought of them. Pretty sad if that is what he did, especially after all those guys/gals have done for the company. Congrats to the JB Pilots for getting a Union on property.
