What's the new "New UA" policy on jumpseaters? United and UA pilots have always been very gracious about upgrading jumpseaters if it's available, while Continental is always the worst. I hope the UA corporate culture wins out on this one..
I know some people consider working 15 days in a row a major hassle.. but on the other side of the spectrum, I was wondering if it's possible to do a 30 on/30 off schedule by back-to-backing your days off over joining months. Is this allowed?
Once Fedex starts hiring in a month or so, will the ACMI's start hurting for pilots? It seems like the natural progression for a cargo guy. Even if you like your current place it's hard to turn down a 100% pay increase.
Looks like low cost airline Air Asia is starting up in the Philippines. Mins for FO are 200, CPL/IR. Captain, 2500 hours on the airbus. (And before you get your hopes up, they don't hire expats.) Keep in mind, the A320 is the CRJ of Asia. most flight schools use airbus sims these days to train...
I've jumpseated overseas on every legacy airline and have been lucky on snagging a seat in business class on every airline except Continental. Is this a company policy, or am I just unlucky? Interestingly, United always seems to waitlist you for international business class without even asking...
Keep negotiations going during the holidays to avoid a messy picket and work slow-down
In January, JCBA will fail and break down, 9E ALPA will be offered TA2 w/ slightly better health care and 10M signing bonus as an "interim" solution, it gets voted in
After the holidays are over and training...
For several years AA pilots have been jumpseating on other airlines, including internationally while they fail to reciprocate the same to other airlines. About a year ago APA claimed they would work on reforming their jumpseat agreements but so far they haven't done anything. While you can't...
Delta: Hiring compass pilots, 100 mesaba, the rest will probably be military buddies and minorities
AA: Poorly run with tons of furloughs to be recalled, just took 200 eagle pilots
CO/UA: Must hire all the UA furloughs before street hiring begins again
AS: If they grow, it will be very...
ASA + XJET = a great opportunity to get your own message board. Please, someone spend $60 a year and get a domain, some free PHP message board software and stop polluting this site and APC with inane stuff that no one else cares about.
Without going into specifics, would it be possible to hitch a ride to the crew to somewhere in the city of London enroute to the crew hotel? Or is the hotel pretty much in the airport area?
Currently, non-owned DCI pilots are only allotted 3 or 6 international travel days per year, jumpseating included. This goes against the jumpseat agreements our unions have agreed upon with DL/NW pilot unions. Currently we can only take one international trip per year on Delta or Northwest...
Half the messages on here concern ASA business that no one who doesn't work there cares about. Don't you guys have your own message board where you can discuss the more mundane topics?
