I used to work at Republic and was lucky enough to get out of that hell-hole. A friend of mine is looking to get on with a regional. I wouldnt recommend it to him, but I was wondering if it has gotten any better over there?
Anything new and exciting going on over there? I havent heard much about them lately. I really would like to get a job flying with them soon. I heard they are a great airline to work for.
Do you think this will work? Does Brian Bedford have what it takes? I dont see how this is a smart business move. Republic has a niche as a regional airline..Wouldnt it be a much different business model to run an independent airline? Republic is the most unorganized and screwed up company I...
Christmas Message for December 24, 2008
To my dear Republic family,
It is Christmas Eve and thus another season of Advent comes to a close and the
season of Christmas begins.
Advent, which is a season of preparation, is something I think most airline people can
really understand because it takes...
There are many flight crew abuses going on at Republic. I dont think people realize that this place isn't much better than Mesa airlines when it comes to employee treatment.
Here are some of the unethical things that go on here:
3-5 hours sits during a trip. On a four day trip you could...
Im a captain at a large regional and thinking about trying to get on with JetBlue. How is the QOL over there? Does management treat you like a human being or a robot? Hotels? Duty days? Days off? Are trips commutable? Just trying to get some insight if things are better over there. Thanks
I cant take it anymore. The regional 121 lifestyle is killing me. I seriously think this job is aging me. I hate it so bad I want to get out of flying. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Should I pursue the corporate world of flying? Give me some insights please. Is life better on the...
How does Spirt compare in QOL compared to a large regional? Im at a regional now and many quality life issues suck. I would take a pay cut going to Spirt, but I would live in base and want QOL. Any comments on schedules, hotels, days off? Thanks
Im just wondering what the average duty is for you guys? Some people say 12 hours a day. Thats seems pretty brutal if youre doing it 7 days in a row. How many hours do you fly a month? I know at my regional I fly 90hrs a month. Way too much!
Just another major problem around here: When you finally upgrade to captain after putting up with those unethical FO wages guess what... THEY DONT PAY YOU! There have been several new captains not getting their captain pay for over a month!! Sometimes longer. When you email or call the company...
This is a serious question. Is it really that great to take a pay cut for a long time to go to a major from a regional? Is quality of life much better? Hotels? Schedules? I see people are fighting to get into a place like Delta. Please explain what kind of improvments I will find when leaving a...
So Im looking at Captains pay for Emirates... From whats posted on Airlinepilotcentral.com its not very good. So a first year captain on the A380 is only going to make 79,200$ ??? Is that a base salary? How much can you expect to make there?
Whats does Cathay need to verify education? I didnt go to college, but I see they dont require a 4 year degree. Do they need high school transcripts or are they more worried about flight experience?
Please dont come to Repbulic!!! This place is a living hell!! Absolultly no respect for the pilot group. Come here if you dont care about QOL, family, money, health! I am getting ready to walk off of this horrible job...
