I normally don't kiss and tell, but in my opinion this was so far over the top that its worth sharing.
A few weeks ago, on a dark and stormy night, I jumpseated in a regional jet to my home in the Midwest. Now, I'm familiar with the practice of aiming the wx radar down to paint ground clutter...
I was told today by a legacy ExpressJet captain that SkyWest pilots no longer have priority on Express Jet. We are now Time of Check in, in the "other" airline category. She took a mainline American pilot over me.
Is this true? Is this the way its going to be even tho we are both wholly...
A friend wants to give her husband, a non pilot, a cool birthday present. She mentioned maybe a couple of hours in a full motion sim or something along those lines. I suggested that perhaps a ride in a vintage warbird like a T33, or Mig15, would be more memorable.
Does anybody have any...
Skywest is set to vote on new, one year pay agreement.
Basically, it holds the line. No pay cuts, some very slight increases, a hard rate for the 175, and it's only one year.
Most important, it's not concessionary!
Discuss....
Popcorn is ready...
Landing in Denver yesterday next a UAX Dash 8, all of a sudden the thing turns sideways, I thought they'd had an engine failure and were going to lose control! Then I realized THEY WERE IN A FULL FORWARD SLIP!!!! Are you effing kidding me? I bet those pax really enjoyed that ride...
My son is filling out a job app. One of the questions is to describe what happened the last time he lost his temper. I don't recall ever seeing him lose his temper, but he has to put somethign down, what's a positive way to answer this question?
Thanks.
The announcers on today's game said that the Cleveland Browns plane ran off the taxiway, got stuck in the grass and they had to deplane and get another airplane...who was it?
Last night on guard freq, there was a lot of questions about Jet Blue merging or getting bought out by either American or TAM. Apparently it had been on the news. Can't find anything on it...just a rumor?
This is worse than I thought! I learned yesterday that Surejet was short for SUper REgional!!! Are you kidding me? No wonder Skywest stock tanked. Could they really be that stupid?
A flight attendant told me the other day that bags stored in a coat closet have to be stored upright, and side by side, instead of laying them down on top of one another. Does anyone one know if this is true, and if so, can you provide an FAR reference?
Thanks
I knew that DL had reduced their schedules out of CVG, but I didn't realize how much, until I flew in there this past thursday. We landed on 36L, and there were weeds growing out on the taxiway all the way back to the departure end of 36C. Really sad.
So I did my weekly commute from FWA today. I checked in at the Eagle counter and the agent checked me on CASS and gave me a seat in the back. As usual, I'm hanging back so I can let the paying pax go first, and I can thank the crew without blocking the door, when the FO walks by. We say hi...
I flew through ORD today and saw a bunch of ExpressJet airplanes, in the branded colors at the F gates. Did I miss the announcement? Or were they doing some charters and UA was ground handling them?
I've been flying through south central Canada quite a bit lately. I have noticed that in the western reaches of YWG center, when the controller is working multiple frequencies, I can hear aircraft transmitting on a different frequency. For example, we can be on 133.xx and center will tell an...
While enroute I normally monitor 121.5 and hear pilots who've missed a handoff, or flown out of coverage ask for a frequency. In fact, I've done it myself, but just wondering about it from a controller's viewpoint.
Case in point, we were on a western Denver center frequency, when an airline...
The flights to my home airport are changing from CRJ's to ERJ's. I've learned that the actual jumpseat in the CRJ is usually CG limited, what about the ERJ? CG lmited? Weight limited? Or both?
Just trying to plan my commute. Thanks
