So, now you have me intrested. What years were you in LBB? I worked at Flight Tech; had a PA28-160 on lease back, out on my own; and I worked at Lubbock Aero at one time also.
There were some crazy things out at T&C. Do you remember Jason, I forgot his last name, who had the Robison out there?
Sniper Bob, The school was Flight Tech, Inc., at Town and Country Airport. I think it was N93193, that was 13 yrs ago. The guy who bought it was going to take it apart and ship it to India for flight training.
Ya, he was. As Paul Harvey would say....the rest of the story. The guy was 70 yrs old and had not flown in 15 yrs. He had owned a number of airplanes earlier in his life, I have no doubt that at one time he was a pretty good stick. Hell, he flew many years with no probs at all.
The next...
When the first flight school I worked at closed, I delivered the airplanes to their new owners. Some went to Dallas, the others went to far off places. The two coolest trips were a 172 to Ashville, NC and a 152 to Long Beach from Lubbock.
The Ashville was cool bc the new owner keep me...
I know this is an old thread, I would like to thank everyone for their replies. I am checking out the boards waiting on my wx package for a flight to FL for the shuttle launch. It was 4 weeks ago yesterday that Dad passed. I was looking at a picture we had taken on the 4th of July just 3...
Flightcrew, You brought a tear to my eye with that one. We are going to use it at the funeral on Wednesday. If that is ok.
We will be leaving for Greenville, Tx in the next hour for the funeral. My wife and sister-in-law have put together a collage of pictures of Dad. I want to...
Thanks for all the replies. My brother and his wife just got to Houston, that helps. He is sittin' here watching me type this.
Dad left many memories. They one thing that actually stuck was when he told me that one day he would get real smart and time would go by much faster. It was up to...
Hey All, My father passed away yesterday. He had been in a nursing home for about a month. Before that he was in the hospital in Houston where he was diagonised with Lou Gehereg's disease.
I had my Dad at the house Sunday morning where we had a speaker phone conversation with my brother...
Dude, I don't think you're even sexy when you wear those tight shorts! I hear Reggy thinks you are though!!!!!!! hehehe
Sorry to bust your chops like that, you left it wide open, RT.
B D King that sounds like a good idea. However have you seen the prices of homes in the area. The FBO manager just bought a 1500 sq ft house that is 40 yrs old. He paid 145k for it. Just for kicks he showed me around the area when he was looking for a place and told me the current prices...
Hanging around the FBO right now. We do employee shuttles 3 times a week to TIx. It depends on who I am flying with, but the days are like this. Sometimes I go to the YMCA and work out, stop at Subway and grab a bite to eat. Other days we go to Cracker Barrel and eat a late breakfast.
We...
Very sad indeed. I spend many a day in TIX doing corp shuttles for our company. I believe if it was the C47, it was crashed about two years ago. The pilot bounced it down the runway and collapsed the gear. If I learn more on friday, I will post.
Our Corp Flight Dspt went there for Unusual Att Training. It is a very well run operation and they are very knowledgable. The stick and rudder training we had was the best any of us had ever experinced. Tons of fun and lots of grins!
SWApoolie, I was a new-hire FA July 21, 1995. I got married Aug 19, 1995. The company pulled me off my trips for the time I needed. I am sure they will work with you. Congrats on the job and gettin' hitched!
