My preference is to go to CS, not because they are non-union, I simply wish to fly out of my home base instead of commuting. Besides, I think that with the fleet linited to the Citation series, there are some real cost advantages there.
As for unions, sometimes I love 'em, sometimes I hate...
Still waiting...
OK...is it my my avatar? I' would still like some info about CS. The good, the bad, the ugly.
Oh...one more thing...does CS have "training captains" or something along the lines of an OE Captain?
Bring it!
Mike
I did not know that he was a Midwest pilot so I apologize for that. I would go even furthur and say that I was not leveling anything against the Airtran pilots either. I was strictly speaking about this guys flamebait remarks.
I am more than man enough to apologize and so if I offended the...
Let's see, you have flown the 717 and DC-9. That means you are probably Airtran previously Valujet previously Eastern scab. I think that sums it up about right!
It's always interesting to see how the flamebaiters haven't the spine to be forthright, at a minimum, as to the company they work...
I am considering a move and was wondering if there are any Spirit pilots here? Maybe you could tell me what it is like there.
I do know that you are getting the A319's and I hear that the 321's are coming.
Thanks for your time.
Mike
Independence is NOT losing 40 a month. Where did you get that from? There was a spike about a month ago where we lost 30 in three weeks. It was after one of those Air Inc seminars. Apparently some of them actually got offers while there.
The attrition is slowed again and oddly enough they are...
You have pointed out some important truths, especially in the last paragraph. When things go wrong it is up to the committee members to first offer guidance and then the MEC, if necessary. Issues that need resolution are not handled by people in some big glass building at ALPA HQ. The ALPA HQ is...
Just curious for some information.
Has anyone here ever worked for or known someone that worked for one of the crew leasing companies like Best Int'l USA, Direct Personnel Int'l LTD,IAC Global, or IASCO?
I was wondering if there is some interesting opportunities out there and what the...
This "limit" as you describe will only be transcon until the lawyers at JB or other carriers try to change the regs to mean "any" type of flying. Consider that airline managers know not the difference in flying three legs for 7.5 hours(which isn't hard) or eight legs at 7.5 flight hours. They...
This was the original plan...
The company, then ACA, was to obtain a certificate to fly charter operations using either the Airbus or Boeing. After a year doing charter ops and taking delivery of the third narrowbody, the company would anounce that it was going to break away from UAL over a two...
lowcur,
From the latest USAir management statement:
"U.S. Airways did not think the high volume of sick calls at Christmas was organized, Kudwa said."
Nuff said.
Mike
And I suppose that you or anyone else will be able to PROVE that most of these that called in sick were actually NOT sick? Maybe you should be shuttled off to a doctors appointment at your expense should you ever call in sick...just to be sure.
I'm not saying I would ever do that myself, more...
How about the fact that the USAir pilots have for years been at the throughts of management trying to convince them that having NINE, yes NINE, different acft configurations on property was going to kill them in the long run? They had 767, 757, 727,737-100, -200, -300, F-100, DC-9-30, MD-80's...
All fine questions, my young apprentice!
If your company offers it's own "Loss of Licence" or "Short/Long-term Disability" then do this...take a look at the premiums and compare them to the ALPA insurance. Notice anything? Sure. The ALPA insurance is MORE! Why is that you ask? Let me...
For any pilot or employee to speculate on the future of competitor and how it might affect their own career is not inappropriate. Today every crew room at every airline is filled with the same banter.
On the other hand, to openly state joy on the loss of thousands of jobs and how it will...
UAL is seeking more cuts via the bankruptcy court. It just seems like it's never going to end for them. Good luck to al UA employees.
