I too know this guy and yes, he did take a chance by leaving JB. He thought he had a great opportunity infront of him.

However, he was unfairly shown the door by an a$$hole named Steve Clements who is too little of a pilot to know a good pilot when he sees one. SC was on his period (bad PMS) when he was asked for clairification on a certian point in indoc. When his PMS didn't let up after a week or two, he started firing.

The lessons learned here:

-DON'T got to work for VA, they rule their pilots by fear. (Fred Reid, Don Carty and company, what do you expect)

-If you are dumb enough to go to work there, DON'T ask ANY questions, as SC may have your a$$ FIRED.

-If you make it thru training, DON'T write a letter on anyone's behalf, if SC doesn't like them, he doesn't like YOU (and now YOUR a$$ is on the chopping block)

More to the story...much more. I'm bettin' you're getting a somewhat "sanitized" version. Let's just say this situation was well reviewed & was the decision of more than one guy, several more. Believe it or don't.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield sucks as far as insureance goes. I lived in CA and had them while I worked at a crappy non aviation job. They are cheap and do not cover all the costs that many other premium providers do. Bottom line, the company is being cheap by geting them and they are a cheap insureance..simple. If a company really cares about its employees they would not get them Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Plus, VA does not provide insureance day one...and they do not accept pre-existing conditions.

They covered my pre-existing medical issue...I think you are incorrect.

There is much more to the story but I believe it is you that is getting the "sanitized" version.

A good friend that I used to work with at Jetblue was recently fired. I do not know all the details but I can say that it was the most un-called for firing I have ever heard of. Apparently he asked a question during indoc about being typed as a captain. The guy that answered the question is know as an egomaniac and was most likely hired to manage pilot expectations by intimidation. Ironically he was know for these very same qualities at Airtran.

My friend is one of the most trustworthy honorable men I know. I have worked with him for nearly ten years and can say unequivically that he did not deserve what was so easily handed to him by Virgin.

It is my personal opinion that he was fired for the very qualities that got him hired. He is honest, professional, hard working and a dedicated family man.

Be very careful about applying to Virgin. They say one thing about treatment and values and do the opposite.

So let me get this right...a guy asks a question in indoc about a 320 type and this "egomaniac" decides to really be cruel and wait until the day of the ride to fire him?

I assure you that there some serious holes in this assertion. Give your friend a year to calm down and then ask him what really happened.

No, I will not post what I know out of respect for your friend. So don't even ask me here or in a PM. Have your friend tell you.

How many aliases do you have? Are you trying to make your argument by way of several posters?

And don't worry I nerver would try to PM you when you when I know the truth.

Karma is a bit#h. Remember that.
