Probably a dumb question but... were your pilots pay-protected for the 1,000+ cancelled flights over the past week? This would go hand-in-hand with a few of the points in your 3 1/2 hour brief mentioned above. Curious.
That is correct. All forms of non-rev other than jumpseaters need not check in w/the capt. All jumpseaters, however, do... even you paid the $25 at the gate.
Pipe,
How about introducing yourself to the captain for the sake of having the fee waived in the first place? Captains have some influence in that regard and the few times I have had more than one jumpseater, no fee has yet applied. Internally, there may be some buttons to push... The least I...
Allen Philpot!
For those on the fence: why would you even consider a management type to represent us? Dave was a likeable CP and a is likeable instructor... either is hardly useful in day-to-day union work and at a very critical time for every pilot on the property. He was also on the...
For those against the change: unlike this poll, looks like those in favor have spoken in larger numbers on the following website: http://dms.dot.gov/search/searchResultsSimple.cfm?numberValue=26139&searchType=docket. Unlike Flightinfo, this website does count for something. If you feel strong...
Grossly overpaid management is the reason. The $ amount of the loss will again equal to that of the BOD’s performance bonus for the year. Not like it hasn’t happened before... How much more does Leonard make compared to his counterparts at ANY other airline, major or not? The disparity is huge &...
The way you phrase it still makes it sound like it's 10.5% of your 401K contribution. Our 10.5% is 10.5% of your annual income hence the B-fund. 10.5% of your yearly 401K limit (which is $15,000 for 2006) is different than 10.5% of your $XXX,000 W-2, although both DO start at year 2. Big...
No..., we have a 10.5% B-fund that is deposited into the same account as our 401K. We do not have any 401K matching (unless you are a flight attendant or a ramper). Check your paystub.
I know the interline e-ticketing has been terminated effective October 8 but I didn't know the non-rev travel was also ending. Oh well... considering our pass bureau's 2-week turn-around period, I wonder how many at Airtran actually used DL's ID90... as if it was set up to be user-unfriendly in...
Huh? What do the DAL/AAI employees "utilizing the pass agreement" have to do with it? What I think that interline ticketing cancellation means is if Delta cancels a flight & Airtran is the only carrier to Atlanta, Delta will NOW pay full walk-up fare to put their stranded [revenue] pax on the...
I don't mean to point out the obvious, Rik, but the question to which you're alluding is actually 32's signature line (never mind the lack of relevancy to the subject at hand). For example, if you look at Longhorn's post above, his signature line reads, "TEXAS LONGHORNS-2005 National Champs…" &...
Don't you think a similar threat could have been perceived on the Valutran’s divert? At least, Valuetran didn’t stop in the middle of the runway & effectively shut down all arrivals for the day … must have been some act of SSAA heroism. Or did the "super scabs & the 500-hr wonders" just give up...
Didn't United just divert a 767 for hand lotion (another banned item)? "Was that one of your super scabs or one of the 500 hour wonders that made the excellent decision to make an emergency landing due to a flippin hand lotion?" Did they make the SSAA nomination? Or are United's "super scabs &...
I always get a good laugh out of a newbie declaring those who've been around as "full of it." g(t)t, you've been here... what... a whole 1 year & 2 months now? Could it be that you have not yet experienced what -9 capt has in his 9th year? Management here has had every ample opportunity to...
Same reason why there is still child labor in some countries, or women are treated like slaves, or Indians think that a cow could have been their relative in former life. Simply put, Undaunted, different cultures = different laws AND not all have a reason and/or are logical. Wanna fly past 60...
Following the mishap, he was downgraded back to the right seat. A year (or so) after he retired, he passed away. On the bright side, he lived through the mishap to tell about it in the interview, unlike many before him (re: DAL 191). BTW, "we face reality" every day. Fly safe.
See, Uppercrust, it happened in the "upperatmosphere" after all (however you define "upperatmosphere" since it wasn't from "Vr to 2000 AGL") but that's not what you were after you little attention whore. Till the next headline,
