Before I was a home owner the per diem was my biggest deduction. One good thing about turbotax is that you can itemize and it will tell you which will get you the bigger refund/least payment because it compares both your itemized deductions to the standard deduction. Even before I bought my...
You can use more than 3/4 of the first and last day of a trip. Under special transportation workers (IRS pub 463 page 6) there is Method 2. It says that you can use any percentage as long as you use it consistently.

I agree 100%. There may be some companies where its not worth it, but I get paid crap per diem so it usually adds almost 1000 bucks to my refund. So for me its worth it. I've done both the standard and the city by city rate for two years straight. One year the standard was better and the...
We do it. It has to be scheduled for at least 8:45 rest. It can be reduced from that if needed due to delays. After any reduced rest period (scheduled or non-scheduled) we are limited to 10 hours duty the next day.
Scheduled reduced rest overnights used to be pretty common, but lately not...
I used to teach in a 112A in FL, but I heard the school sold it a few years ago and replaced it with an Arrow I think. I never saw another one used as a school plane the few years I flew that one. Sorry I'm not much help. I did love that thing though...but the 112A sure did like to eat up runway.
Most of the super high ups with Colgan last names will probably stay in Manassas since they were born and raised there. In fact I'm not sure many of them even went to MEM. I was just in Manassas and someone mentioned that a few of the Colgans started up a used car or motorsports (dirt bikes...
To be honest...I have no idea. But I'd say probably the company since they are saving tons of money by not having our new contract up and running.
The last contract that was signed was signed in Aug 2000. Yes over 10 years ago. If you figure 5 year contracts we should have had TWO contracts...
Pretty much. Was talking about it today. Someone said the last negotiation meeting was 7 months ago. I'm not sure if that is accurate, I lose track of time pretty easy with this job, but I do think it was spring or early summer so that math may be pretty close to right.
Basically the NMB...
It would be fine as long as it was proven effective. Too many people have said that these things are not that effective. There are much better ways to go about keeping bombs off of planes.
Drunk drivers kill people every day. Would you be ok with making everybody do a breathalyzer before...

Now we can't forget the passengers. Enough passengers...
My guess is that because we are considered experts at traveling and that if the public sees that we have a problem with these scanners then they think that they should have a problem with them too. So more public may opt out of scanners. If we have crewpass then the TSA can trick the public...
So does that mean crewpass will be up and running when I go to work tomorrow??
Anyways its great news for us that we are able to get crewpass finally. It took way too long.
We need to make sure that we all keep writing our elected officials so that they change the way that the scanners...
With many many many new controllers in the system this seems to be more and more common. I had to do it the other week with Chicago Center. Nasty storms ahead. Gave about a 50 mile heads up. No answer. 2 or 3 more calls was eventually told we could expect a turn in a bit. Finally ended up...
I had a Korchman bag with wheels for 7 years. Got the one with wheels cause I did mostly day trips and was lazy. It held up like a tank. Even ran it over with my car once by accident. After having the bag 2.5 to 3 years the handle fell off. Used eye bolts a little bit of chain inside pvc...
