Looking for a Commercial Instrument pilot to fly a 206 based in Oregon during the fire season (starting soon). Job is Part 91, flying parts, pilots and mechanics to and from fire bases throughout the West. Need 25 hours in a 206 and would prefer someone with 1000 hrs total. Great way to see a...
We did get the fuel flow readjusted and seems to run great now. I'll ask the mechanic about the other items you suggested looking at. Thanks alot for your advice Avbug.
Thanks very much Avbug,
I feel like I understand the system a bit better now. And yes, I do drain the header tanks. In any case, it looks we have some more investigating to do.
One more question though. Is there a way to adjust this excessively high fuel flow? It runs over 30 g/h (suppose...
Hi People,
I'm flying a '71 206 that has had some interesting problems, apparently fuel system related.
On several occassions the engine suffered from very low power on the takeoff roll. You could taxi back and run up the engine again and power would be fine. Another pilot flying the plane...
Company I work for has a temporary position for a Part 91 pilot based in Oregon to do quite a bit of flying throughout the western states this summer. Insurance requirements are 1000 total time, commercial/instrument, 50 hrs in make and model, and annual IPC. Send me a message if you're interested.
I have done instrument training with Brian. Definitely the best instructor I have flown with. And the Portland area is hard to beat for getting experience in actual. Feel free to PM with any questions.
Somewhere West of Boise...
Ture story:
I had a student who was getting her first X-country training and was doing a great job of following along with her sectional. I had just pointed out to her that we had crossed the Oregon-Idaho border when she looked out and asked me why she couldn't see...
I need about 50 hrs of Multi. Looking for someone who wants to split time in a rental. Oregon or Washington preferably. Or someone needing multi training?
I'm sure you didn't mean to tell a student pilot with 10.3 hours to practice spins on his own. Recover on it's own? Yeah, it'll recover into a steep spiral and a few seconds later you're doing 140 knots, thinking gee this is fun! Get some spin training first.
I think you're missing the point on the nature of stalls. Fully developed? The wing stalls at the critical angle of attack, usually about 15 to 17 degrees to the relative wind. Fully developed means you're not going to release the back pressure on the yoke when it stalls. This is called a...
You might try one of the earplugs that regulate the pressure changes such as flitemate or earplanes. Remember the Valsalva technique is used only on the descent. Some people keep an emergency spray bottle of decongestant.

Checkout Mustang Air in Palmer!
I'm the chief Flight Instructor at Mustang Air. Palmer is less than an hour from ANC. I think it is really a better place to fly from for sightseeing. We rent C150's, C172's, a Beech Sierra, a Decathalon, and a supercub. Leave a message if you want more info...
Anyone know of a FSDO or other source online where I might find a sample Ops or training manual? Or lacking that I'd appreciate any advice on things I might study up on before I start an initial 135 ground school coming up soon. Besides the obvious Part 135 regs. I just finished my ATP so I'm...
You have to be kidding!
I can't believe any of you guys think this has any remote chance of being real. And the guy on the ground is listening in on the plane's intercom too. Come on!
