If, as a Captain, you manage to fly an aircraft to a critical low fuel state situation and you opted to continue to your destination instead of diverting to an alternate, then some serious questions needs to be raised about your Captain leadership ability! Under IFR, you must have enough fuel...
I'm dumbfounded that some people on here are admitting they do not know or have a clear understanding of their own SOPs in regards to company stabilization procedures.. Now I understand why there's a recurring problem with accidents involving landing at SWA? You guys are really true cowboys...
Well...this accident was not a AAI flight, but in fact a SWA flight! That being said, I only suggested that one should not spread rumors until its proven to be factual.
As for Criminal Negligence...Many countries have brought criminal charges against pilots for negligent conduct. Although...
Take caution with rumors you spread. If true, it would be considered Gross Negligence on both pilots. Considering if there was a loss of life, it would be considered Criminal Negligence.
I don't think it wasn't necessary to point out the sex of the Captain. Its irrelevant!! Eventually some idiot will start making male chauvinistic comments. What should be relevant discussion are the decisions and actions the crew took as a cohesive unit. We can all learn from other pilots...
C'mon....Seriously?!?!?!?!
Severe weather that close to the airport MANDATES the decision not to even land at the airport let alone attempt an approach! Remember DL 191 landing at DFW?
Hmmmm....If one has to take control of an aircraft for any reason at such a low altitude, would it not be prudently safe to decide a Go-Around would be the safe and best course of action in preventing and avoiding an accident? Previous aviation accidents all show cases where accidents...
WX was not a factor in this accident (the many videos proves this). And even if it was the case (such as wind shear), why not execute a Go-Around? Why take control of the aircraft at 400ft? As for your low fuel level theory, although I unequivocally disagree, it still does not explain the...
Here's a question that no one is asking....
At some point on the approach before 400ft, the Captain may have had some concerns as to the quality of the approach, but instead of taking control at 400ft, why not just announce "GO AROUND"? This simple command, which is written in every SOP at...
Absolutely!!! You can't be charged or disciplined if you protect yourself. I certainly would have giving this guy a good old fassion ASS-Whipping he should have received when he was young. Tough talk is just that...TALK! Once he'd raise your hand, his intent was to create harm.

I can, I just need accurate info about them (i.e. salary, hourly pay, EOSG comp, etc.). If you or anyone else has this info, I will include it. It would be helpful if it is an up to date document or from someone who works there.
