typo? or the agreement?
"o First Officer longevity pay is capped at 4 years of service or the pilot’s actual years of service, whichever is greater."

If the agreement then no cap asi read it.

I think they're alluding to a variation of a "B-scale."

i.e. F/O pay is capped at year 4, unless you're already past it. Instead of saying, if you're hired after X date, you'll never make more than $X/hr.

Pilots are in the business of Threat and Error Management, which means you should always be looking for the worst case scenario.

So let's say you're a PSA FO, who just wants to get some PIC time and/or move on. Your worthless union presents you with this POS deal, and tells you there'll be new airplanes, upgrades galore, and guaranteed mainline interviews. What's not to like?

Please consider all the ways you could be screwed by the fine print. They deliver one new airframe by the deadline, then cancel the remaining orders. Or, they take delivery of all 30, and promptly send all the 200's to the desert. So no upgrades.

Then, they announce a single class of a whopping 300 people at mainline. Of these, only four will be PSA guys. Nevertheless, they line up 300 PSA pilots for interviews, and fail 296 of them. This is repeated in month 2, and now every PSA pilot has their pay frozen for the next 10 years. Amazingly, the new hire classes get cancelled anyway, but the damage is done.

What's that, you can't see airline managements colluding to exploit contract loopholes? Especially when mainline would benefit financially from screwing you over?

If this thing passes, I would be wary of flying on PSA due to an obvious display of poor Threat/Error Management skills.

Why are these TAs even being "TAed"? What's wrong with the PSA MEC? Can we name some names so people know who's behind this crap?

Go ahead, pull the trigger guys-- you'll get what you deserve. Pay caps and the sound of a giant flushing toilet. Take that home to the kids and put it on the table.

Lastly, we are stunned by the lack of resistance exhibited from ALPA’s national officers, with the sole exception of Vice President of Administration and Eagle Captain Bill Couette. Our National Leadership has not led the way in this effort to “Stop the Whipsaw”.

Is any body really surprised?

Nooooooo, there's no conflict of interest.....

The new pattern bargaining norm?

What ALPA is doing to the regional carriers is disappointing. They don't seem to realize that a huge pay gap only increases outsourcing pressure on us.

Larger RJs and more or less a promised job. They'll take it. Not wise to mess with your wholly owning major. Look at comair

Laughable coming from Hulas's expert goat rimmer. Why don't you go back to licking your nuts, it's the only thing you can do well.

ALPA created what the regionals are now by being too good or thinking its too costly for them to keep the jets at mainline. No one to look at other than the pilots at each major when they decided not to scope their own brand. Oh well.

Maybe we should all be to the point that we don't gives a crap what anyone does anymore!! I think I'm over it.......... :) Screw it... Votes yes!!!

Hell it will be fun to see what happens!

If these guys vote this pos in, there should be an informal ban on psa pilots at the majors. Don't recommend anyone from psa, blackball any applicant from psa. Then maybe then the regional industry will understand the ramifications of thier actions. If they don't look at their airline as just a stepping stone then maybe the industry might be worth half a damn.
