Hope the junior trannies are saving some money. I feel some pain being dished out very soon! Good luck to all as we're going to need it!

So, let me see if I can hone in on this new "feeling" you've just had. The junior Air Tran guys need to save money because you FEEL some pain being dished out soon. Do me a favor and don't post crap like this on here. My wife is six months pregnant, I'm already on edge with all that has gone down, so I don't need another jackoff running around spreading more rumors of job loss. While this abortion of a merger is entertaining for some of you to watch, keep in mind there are real people's lives and families involved here.

The truth is that we have a no-furlough clause which can only be breached if the company experiences "Extreme Economic Hardship".

It's awfully difficult to convince a judge that you're experiencing Extreme Economic Hardship when you're posting quarterly and yearly profits, a LOT of which comes from the AirTran side of the partition with lower costs and higher ancillary revenue, and that's the first thing we'd do with any WARN notices that came out - file immediately in D.C. for an injunction based on the no-furlough clause without proof that the "Extreme Economic Hardship" point had been triggered.

There simply isn't a reason to do it. Are we overstaffed? Of course, everyone knows that. Can they use that to bring on furloughs arbitrarily when the company is profitable? No.

So yeah, I call bullsh*t. Perhaps the poster is just repeating crew room gossip, as there certainly has been NO indication from management that they are moving in that direction, and for CERTAIN there's NO reason to put it on here and mess with people's happy place, unless they're just pot-stirring.

The Flight Attendants, on the other hand, are in a different position. Their no-furlough clause is a LOT more loosely-worded, and with them not taking a proportionate number of F/A's over with the planes coming out of MCO this month and next month and again in July/August, it's unclear what's going on with them... But again, for us, our wording is pretty clearly tied to economic company performance and we're all doing just fine.

Remain calm, party on, and practice that Lamaz! (sp?) :)

Six months pregnant.... you know how that happens right?? I do believe that event took place post merger announcement. Best of luck to all though, I was furloughed once with my wife pregnant with twins!!!! Courtesy 9/11 though, so I had no advance warning.... in fact I even had a "no furlough clause" to rely on... I have a feeling that you'll be just fine, so there, my feeling cancels out his bad feeling!
Happy New Year,
LUV

Yeah, well, turns out is doesn't just happen. You don't really know our situation or how long we were trying. It was LONG before the announcement. Tell your wife lets wait 5 more years and let this thing smooth out. That would go over like a fart in church.
