130k guaranteed up to 150k+ for CRJ2/9 captains overseas being advertised on internet sites.

Further information

Asian Carrier are seeking CRJ 900 Captains for their expansion plans, the position will be for 2 years and the contract will be direct with the Airline. This is a commuting position of 44 days on and 16 days off with 2 return flights to domicile per year.
Remuneration:
US$ 10,500 net per month for 75 hours
Overtime $150 USD per hour over 75 per month, currently the Client flies around 90 hours per month
$4500 usd end of year bonus
Housing provided
All interested candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered :-
Total Time in excess of 4000 hours
Total Captain Time in excess of 1500 hours
Total Captain time in excess of 1000 hours on CRJ 200/700/900
Class 1 medical
Minimum ICAO Level 4 Proficiency cert
Date of last flight on CRJ 900 within last 6 months.
Be under age 53 at commencement of contract
 
And boy you earn it trust me, have a former colleague who has been there long enough for the honeymoon to be over to give you the real story
 
Don't tell the ASA guys, they like their PBS and working for free.

I do like our PBS system, but I'm hardly working for free. ASA is among the highest compensated in the DCI portfolio, which is one of the primary reasons I'm working here in the first place.

And many are happy as well, it is like everything in life perspectives are different from person to person. We also tend to wrap every job in China as one, there is a lot of difference from one job to the next

I totally agree. Making well into 6 figures annually. Not too shabby!

However, I don't like our pbs system. I LOVE IT!

L(xjet) guys just don't get it, and seemingly never will.
 
A former student of mine is paying close to that plus medical, housing and 100% match 401K for all airframes from King Air to 737 in Saudi Arabia. It is an issue of what floats your boat. He has hundreds of applicants.

As long as pilots in the US settle (and I do not mean "agree to," I mean STOP SHOWING UP FOR WORK) sub $100/hour rates, there will be sub $100/hour rates.

I am sorry to rain on your parades, unless YOU stop showing up for work, the wages will continue.

Not really all that tough of a situation to figure out.

The thing to be worried about, is what happens when the Chinese learn how to create a pilot? They can build just about everything else better than we can now--that could mean 1.4 billion more reasons to worry about your job.

Good point. Even if you were a 1 in Million pilot, there would 1,000 pilots just like you.
 
Just because they have cheap labor doesn't mean they have tons of people that speak good English and can fly a plane.

The fact that you do or don't speak English has nothing to do with flying an airplane well. This kind of mentality is the reason living abroad is so refreshing and it is also the reason that the perception of Americans worldwide is less than desirable. How fluent are you in a second or third language? My guess is you are not.....at least they are trying.
 
I was under the impression that a pilot has to be able to speak English to operate in the airline world. I did not mean to imply that speaking English has anything to do with the skills and knowledge involved to fly an airplane.

Nahhh. Russians, Chinese, Brazilians, Mexicans, and Argentinians (to name a few) all speak their own languages on frequency in their home countries. Some carriers will specifically employ English fluent pilots to be part of the operating crew in English speaking environments (ie Wasinc for JAL).

I am having no shortage of amusement with this thread! Do you want to make more money or not????

The American public has made it clear, they do not value your skills. If you are not willing to move to where folks have a greater value for your skills then you must accept the menial wages available in the US.

In the case I was not clear - US passengers do not care about you or your bitching. They care about price. As long as you are willing to show up for work at the current wages, there will be no resolution.

This is NOT a negotiation or Company/union issue, this is a "neighbors" issue.

I am sorry to rain on your parade but, absent a true pilot shortage,there will no increase in compensation.

Chongqing looks pretty nice, if were at a withering airline right now I'd be packing and hoping for the call.
 
Once you go overseas to fly...my understanding is that it's very difficult to get hired again with an airline back in the US..
