Tomorrow (Wednesday, May 2), your union will host an All Pilot Conference Call. It will begin at 1830 CDT and last approximately 3 hours. The main topics of conversation will be the ongoing progress of the merger, what is occurring at the negotiating table, and SmartPref bidding.

All pilots are encouraged to be on this call. Here’s how you can participate:

· Call Numbers
o (888) 517-2485
o (847) 413-3615

· Passcode
o 7500 894

· Live Webcast
o http://tinyurl.com/xjtstream

Following a briefing from your officers and key committee chairmen, pilots will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide us with feedback. If you are not planning to ask a question during the call, consider listening to it via the webcast. During the call, we will also be monitoring the [email protected] e-mail account, so if you logged on via the webcast and have a question, send us an e-mail and we will answer your question in the order in which it is received. Please be sure to include your name with your question so that we can address it properly.

I look forward to talking with many of you tomorrow. If, however, you cannot make this call, a recording of it will be available on the ExpressJet ALPA Web site later this week.

Is this both MECs? What do you mean by "finding out the real story"?

During the SkyWest earnings call this morning Brad Holt was touching on the progress of negotiations and then it sounds like he gets cut off before he can really divulge the details. It was about 34 minutes into the call while answering a question from Raymond James I believe. Or perhaps he simply stuffed the microphone into his pants, not sure.

According to the Atl / Asa/ lec we should be voting on something in a couple of months. But what about the MEC to MEC confidentiality agreement and not discussing negotiations?

You have created some confusion. This was posted today (May, 2), but suggests the call is "tomorrow". Is it today (5/2) or tomorrow (5/3)?

hmm if we vote on it on a couple of months.. that means it should be done within a month? that seems hard to believe..... or are they saying we could have a TA within a few months?

Their words, my guess is that the union does not want to negotiate a contract with pncl and AE in a consessionary enviorment. The company also wants to know their fixed costs for a couple of years to bid contracts...

Just about spot on. Union guys in recurrent last week stated how they want to get this done before pinnacle and eagle take concessions or have their contracts tossed. Was also told company wants this done ASAP because they need to know our costs before bidding on any available flying.

Might there be a rebroadcast or a pod cast of this call for those of us who might have other obligations?

I heard that as well. Very interesting... They just kept going like nothing happened too.

Was this information disseminated to the members in any way? Just looked at all my emails, and nothing......

That's because it's put on by the ERJ MEC only.

I just thought the CRJ guys could have a chance to hear something other than the garbage your people put out. I guess that considering they communicate at all?

Oh well retro checks for all*

* Disclaimer, by "retro checks", and "for all" we mean, we will rename them signing bonuses so the MEC and the very senior can claim an unfair portion of the amounts. But hey we brought you Flightline, trust us we have you junior people covered!

Ohhhhhh, so the ERJ side can communicate with their membership, but the crj side cannot! Got it........

I suggest you delete this information. I don't believe it's public info!

Thanks nevets, not being a smart ass at all. It seems the xjet MEC decided to educate their pilot group on the PBS system they think is coming. Problem being is that system is globalized, and the legacy asa MEC voted 9 to 0 against this..Again the legacy asa guys were told the xjet MEC wanted a agreement to keep the contract negotiations on the down low. But for anyone that listened here I think the folks in Houston stepped outside of this.

How does the ASA MEC have a vote in open session about negotiating related topics and keep it on the down low? I'm confused.

Ok, maybe I just misinterpreted what was said. If that is the case, then we will just stay separate. Which is probably what the anti-pbs people want anyway. Did you listen in on the call?

Globalization can be a good thing, as long as it honors seniority. To date, it sounds like most PBS systems with globalization have NOT honored seniority but rather conformed to the needs of the company. I have a hard time thinking that the MEC would propose SmartPref unless the globalization feature honors seniority. The real-time bidding feature sounds like an industry-leading concept.

We just can't say it's globalized with seeing the TA and the work rules that have been implemented. As anti PBS as XJT is I doubt they would go with a poor PBS system. Let's just wait in the TA and the roadshows to see a real comparison to Flica

I'll tell you one thing. Vacation low will be a goner in the new contract. I believe the company will allow it, but if you choose to maximize your days off, you will not get a 75 hr min. Probably something where you get paid what you credit - and no add pay. How does everyone feel about this? From their perspective, you can have the days off, or the pay. Not both.

Depends on the overall JCBA package. Has to be some serious improvements elsewhere...

Well what I think is: Vacation Low was a feature used to address the pilot group's concerns regarding not being able to maximize vacation under a PBS system. Was crucial to gaining support for the PBS system the company was aggressively pushing for. And they had over a year to analyze the feature. Now following implementation they have decided they don't like it and want to modify. And our elected representatives who were solidly against changing it a matter of months ago, are now singing a different song. Additionally, as we experience the constant exploitation of loopholes company discovers in virtually every aspect of the contract, here's about the only instance I can think of where it actually worked in the pilot group's favor. And we're apparently considering conceding. Killer.
