It can happen to anyone especially if you get slow in a gusty crosswind.

partially true- 30 degrees off the nose (that runway's really a 27) though ain't that bad.

Maybe it was one of the TSA guys that crossed the line.

All those in favor of no more language or grammar lessons, say "yea."

All those in favor of the correct spelling of "yeah" affirm so by typing "yeah" instead of "yea."

All others, carry on ;-)

Which wing contacted the runway?

Left wing - too much correction for the crosswind.
Right wing - no correction for the crosswind or using aileron to decrab instead of rudder (and the wind brought the left wing up).

My guess is the right wing, as I have seen instances of very poor crosswind technique both at the regionals and at the majors.

40 degrees off the runway, though. maybe they hit some wake from somewhere? Though that should have been blown away in that wind also.

Really? Name a few.

We(XJT) had a double wing tip strike when the pilot flying had the airplane so cross controlled that they almost stalled the airplane. They did this on the go around(best decision of the day). I dont remember what the wind was, but IIRC it wasnt that crazy. Our training department has the data recorder simulation and it was ugly.

quick... Everyone grab a ruler... Time to measure whose is bigger!!!!!!

Quick....everybody who steps into the airplane, you measure up, everybody else STFU, you are pogues, who don't have the junk to step onto the field of battle, now back to your cubicle towel boy....You are irrelevant,
