So you imagine relative, equal pay, AND no fences? So you're in control of the arbitrators and Gary Kelly? Your assumption of how much control you have is whacked. Your bravado may be your downfall. I know I have little control but I also know that you have no control. You are now merely a spectator.

717 will pay the same as 737 after arbitration. There will be no long term fences so if 717 pays less, 717 capt. - me, will jump to 737 as soon as I can.
My spot will most likely be taken by SWA FO coming off 737 (no...FOs on 737 will not make the same as captains on 717)
His 737 FO spot will be then filled by 717 FO seeking more pay.
and finally 717 FO spot will be filled by a newhire.
So, GK just got 4 training events out of one vacancy. Not gonna happen. Not to mention that two 717 positions were filled by "native" SWA pilots who will now fly the less paying airplane. Not gonna happen.

So many flaws in your post. Where to start?

So you're thinking vacancy bids following arbitration?????
I don't know if you've bothered looking at history or crunching any numbers but SWA/AAI is looking at surplus pilots for quite a few years. No hiring, no vacancy bids. People may be surplused off of equipment but no vacancy bids.

Boy, it sure is a good thing that GK wants to keep the 717 around for a long time.

Please stop embarrassing yourselves on here. I cannot imagine trusting my family to fly on an aircraft flown by most of the fools on here. AMAZING. Grow Friggin Up and get a life.

Bingo! I am glad somebody knows their airline history around here.

Oh wait.... Disregard. The Current Occupant says we are in an economic recovery. Good thing we have a bunch of retirements coming up.....what's that?....neither one? Oh sh&$@t!!! Better play hardball. That's the ticket.

First off, we're in a male dominated job (I'd say profession but it hasn't been that for a very long time). Men are simply boys with larger endoskeletons. (Except for our vertically challenged brethren) We never have and never will grow up.

Second, I'm furloughed. I haven't turned a wheel in more than 2 years and won't turn one for another year. So don't worry about your family yet. Worry about your family when jackwagons like me finally get recalled after age 65 retirements resume. I want my wife to fly on my first revenue flight - but I don't like her very much. That's a joke folks; my wife is the greatest woman on earth - she has to be in order to tolerate me.

Third, this is fool central. We engage in long schlong contests here all of the time ... see bullet point one. Would you rather we estrogenize? Then we'd simply be having biggest camel toe contests.

They wouldn't be completely stapled and they wouldn't get realitive. They are hoping for a small gain from the SL9 list, but they gave up all the monetary gains that were on the table with that list. And..

They will allow SW and SWAPA have complete say in the transition terms of the CBA. ie, 717 pay, vacation and sick accrual, and possibly a probation period.

I call B.S.!! you think GK is going to allow two different pay scales for the same work (AKA B scale))? go for it...that will be the end of the SWA LUV culture for good...

These are a bunch of junior SWA FOs who believed they were going to upgrade in 5-7 years and are pissed it is going to be A LOT LONGER NOW!

Landgreen,

This is not speculation. Call your reps. If these items don't get negotiated with a possible AIP 2, they will be negotiated between SWAPA and SW. ALPA will no longer exsist at Southwest after and ISL by arbitration. Do some research.

I see the 717 paying what it does now, I don't see Gary stepping up and paying comprehible to the 737. Just my opinion. The other items will be hammered out too. Those are the facts dude.
