Recessing negotiations usually means that the NMB is trying to pressure the union side to make some movement. So, the NMB will probably wait until the Association gives them some sort of indication that they're willing to move on some of the items of contention.

So it's the same old sh*t from the NMB. What do they want from the regional pilot group? Blood now? They can't really think that livable wages are paid to regional FO's can they? I guess they are just not important. And unless you are going to be a career 18+ year regional guy, you will never make a decent wage at these useless regionals.

The two parties already agreed to the pay rates. It's not about that.

It has nothing to do with being "scared." It's about what will really get you a contract instead of what will make you feel good temporarily.
No...it's about getting a contract 9E pilots want, versus getting a contract Phil wiped his ass with. Let me guess...you're suggesting the 9E pilots get a TA passed just for the sake of having a TA?

The job of the union is to get you a fair contract. That won't be accomplished by a few guys writing up windshields in Moline. It will be accomplished by the MEC getting the NMB on their side and proffering the case so you can finally bring this thing to a head. Hopefully the MEC is asking the experienced attorneys in Herndon for advice. That's how this this will actually get finished.
And the NMB has just said the pilots need to bend backwards just a little bit further for management. Hmmmm...looks like no one is in 9E's corner, who do they turn to now?

Of course not. I'm suggesting that they take the necessary steps to get a fair contract that they will be happy with.

There is no one to turn to other than the NMB. They have the sole power to help the PCL pilots get to a contract. They have to get them on their side. There is no other way.

Come on PCL. How did NW get their contract improvements a few years ago after bankruptcy? How did ASA achieve a contract after 5 years?

I agree that a lone wolf will only get himself in trouble, but a fairly unified effort is extremely effective and has been proven so in the past.

You know your pilot group. Do you really think that 1300 pilots, or even 700 pilots, are going to all unify and do what you're implying? Don't kid yourself. It isn't going to happen. Instead, a few angry guys will do it and get fired, the NMB will get angry at your pilot group, and you'll wait another two years for a TA.

The only realistic option for getting to a fair TA is by working within the system.

You guys need to grow up, and stop your school girl whining!!! Did you forget who is in office? Remember Bush is finally gone! The union told me that we will never get a contract with a republican in office. If we ever want a contract, we HAVE to vote for obama. He's sooo smart, he's our only hope. He hates big business, and will "fight" for the working class! Keep the "hope" alive. He hasn't even been in office for 2 years yet! He will fix it, just give him more time! I'm so glad I listened to the union, they always know better...

I thought your Messiah, the great Obama, was going to change all this. Let me guess, this is still Bush's fault.

Joe funny you should say that most of the pilots based in MSP are big time Obama and franken supporters. I'm surprised that they even need a new contract didn't Obama just get everyone free Health care? Yes Yes Yes We Can!!!.. Obama is gonna do so much good for the union worker NOT!!!!...

Pilots are dumb enough to mostly vote republican. Democrat presidents know this. They have no reason to help pilots. Pilots get what they vote for... Which is help for their CEOs and not themselves.
