NMB put us on ice after company asked for CONCESSIONS at the last negotiating session.

The NMB will not help us, and the PILOTS have not put ANY pressure on the company.

As a pinnacle pilot, I will not say anything more specific than that, but I know our pilots will either grow a spine, or this WILL take 5 more years.

So what is the next step? I was expecting that NMB would release you all.

Recessing negotiations usually means that the NMB is trying to pressure the union side to make some movement. So, the NMB will probably wait until the Association gives them some sort of indication that they're willing to move on some of the items of contention.

Exactly, it means they thought the last TA was a reasonable offer by the Company and that the pilots are not being reasonable. They can leave you on ice indefinately until there is movement they are looking for.

We are screwed. The NMB is basically giving us the finger. To them, they are seeing us as the problem. And if the company's report is true that the union walked out with a 'best and final last offer' then I am not surprised. We will not have a TA this year. What's the record for the longest time since amendable date for a union pilot contract? Pinnacle is close to exceeding it. And now that we are on ice, I have a feeling we'll surpass it. Simply the Best!

We have nothing to give. Nothing. We as a PILOT GROUP, have to stop hoping the NMB will give us the leverage we need, and we must make our own leverage. IT IS OUR ONLY OPTION.

After the first TA was rejected the NMB expressed an interest in resolving the issues quickly. The PCL MEC Chairman delayed so the MEC could figure out what they want. The NMB humored them and went with it. Nine months later he meets with an NMB board member and the Director of Mediation and pulls this stunt of 'take it or leave it' and refuses to negotiate. He refused to even listen to the ALPA lawyers. This is from a Chairman that intentionally torpedoed the first TA. He decieved the NMB, ALPA's staff and PNCL management into thinking he supported it and then BOO'ed it down. Everyone knows what happened now.

The NMB has made it clear they will not do business with someone or an organization that doesn't keep it's word. ALPA is not going to say it publicly but they won't either. The Pinnacle MEC has damaged ALPA's stature with the NMB. Essentially, both the NMB and ALPA have washed their hands of the Pinnacle pilots. They have much bigger and more pressing problems to deal with and limited resoureces. They aren't going to waste their time with a bunch of kids they can't trust. When the Pinnacle pilots show up with new leadership that demonstrates they can be trusted the NMB might help them. In the mean time they will not have any support from anywhere. They are on their own.

Then again, with todays announcement it won't matter. The Pinnacle pilots don't need to 'grow a pair', they just need to grow up. All the crew room smack talk and message board beat downs will never accomplish anything. And that is all the Pinnacle MEC has now. In the coming whipsaw with Mesaba they will be taught by the adults how business relationships work. It will be a harsh lesson.

Not one word of truth here. None.

I like you smarta$$ but.....Ask your reps.

Which reps? The chickensh!t confederate reps that have bought into WFG's grand plan to exact his revenge on SE or the calm, cool and focus northern reps who have a clue?

+1. That was complete crap cooked up by a small, uninfluential group of conspirators.

You wish they were uninfluential. Unfortuneately, dessention spreads like desease. As long as your MEC is unwilling to speak up on it's own behalf and defend itself against the dessentors, then the devided rebels will continue to run rough shod and further devide the group unity. Take note of how often your MEC Chair and Reps are challenged as to their effectiveness and compare it to how often they bother to defend themselves against it. It's like they've grown tired of reassuring their own pilot group.
