Talon - I broke down yesterday and opened my own account. hehe I was the one who posted the reply prior to your last under "C-LO".

Who knows, maybe this time next week, we'll both be sitting in an interview group together! If not, good luck! :) And yeah, the whole pool thing being disbanded is kinda what I heard too...oh well. We did it once, we can do it again!
 
Does anybody know if you receive a confirmation e-mail from Atlas telling you they received your information? I have found that some places do and some don't. It is usually just an automated do not reply type e-mail but I have not received any type of confirmation from them. I am trying to avoid looking like an complete idiot parked next to the phone only to find out they never received my info.


You know...I don't remember ever receiving any confirmation...just a phone call...which is the best kind of confirmation!!

It sounds like the interviews for former swimmers will be on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of April. See you there!

There will also be six furloughed FE'S upgrading to -200 FO mixing in with the new hires.
 
any idea how many guys were in the pool and has any non pool people been called for interviews? my buddy over there said down in miami they mention there would be 20-30 total new hires.
 
I guess, not many type rated 747 dudes out there without the PIC. The only example I can think of would be the UA new hire back in the late 90s that went straight to the 744. But were they even type rated?

I'm proud to say I'm NOT a United guy, yet I have no Jet PIC. Somehow I managed to pick up a few thousand hours of T-Prop PIC and lots of SIC heavy jet time including a type and time in the 400.
I guess that makes a guy flying an RJ more qualified than me, but I'm the one soon to be on the street from the last job I'll ever have.

There are usair pilots with multiple type ratings and 20+ years all in the right seat; they passed on the upgrade for various lifestyle reasons during that brief window in 99-2000 when they could have held the left seat.

It happens.
