On Tuesday, October 13, Jetblue will unveil its new livery. The current paint scheme is nearing 10 years old in February 2010, a record for this industry (Delta had 5 if you include Song)!!! The white top, blue bottom fuselages are very popular among Delta, United, and USAirways-- similarly, Airtran and Spirit too have white and blue... I'm certain we'll have some blue in our new livery, considering the name and all... I guess we'll see tomorrow!!!

Maybe they will be smart like SWA and paint the whole plane blue so that after 3 months it actually looks purple.....

I like AA's silver. I wonder why we need to spend money on this particular capital project when we're still working on infrastructure to actually make the airline run properly. Maybe instead we could hire a few more dispatchers and actually have real flight-following? Nah....

AA's polished aluminum will always be around, until we get all composite airframes (think 787), in which case who knows. What they should update are the titles and stripes, very 70s.

So will the new planes smell of coffee and wine or burrito and nacho?

wait we're getting new planes?

Sorry wrong crack pipe!

Why spend money on employees when you could use that money to paint airplanes.

A common mistake. Planes in a given fleet are painted all the time. More often than not, it's the same paint job they came in with. To change to a new livery just means that when the plane is due for an already scheduled painting, the new design is painted instead of the old.

Beyond I'm sure the posts of Delta and Lufthansa A-320 paints schemes to follow, I liked this one I found...

I hope you know that's just a paint scheme someone made up. The JB looks really hokey...

FYI- the NWA bowling shoe lasted all the way from the late 1980's to 2003. Maybe you mean it's the longest running current scheme among airlines? AA still has you beat by at least 20 years, haha.

Our bad....

BB pointed out that JetBlue owns and copyrights the color blue.....

Tool....

I am so excited about the new livery that I've been hardly been able to sleep for a week. It's going to be a very special day, ranking up there with the birth of my children. No, ABOVE the birth of my children. We are talking a new paint job here.

Excuse blew bayou, during the last BOB pivot he took one to the side of the head and the blew juice got in his eye.

The guy just has no airline knowledge and it show's.

I like the old AA paint scheme, the one with the flash on the side! Think it looks great on the retro jets.

Agreed DD. We purchased full fare tickets to attend and delayed a family member's burial for this.

On a separate note, how much longer do you figure we got?

I stuck my tongue out and it's blue too!!! If I have to be perfect like you all the time I don't think I'd enjoy life... BTW my reference was a joke as far as livery changes in the airline industry goes-- guess you don't laugh much either...

AA may have been silver all of these years but it had different livery ways back when...

Enjoy!!!

God! I'm having palpitations. I can't stand it! I've not been able to hold a thought in my head all day with the anticipation and excitement.

BTW..the end is nigh. :D

Has it happened yet? I can't stand it. I almost didn't live my life today because of it.

Stupid children. Demanding that I take them hiking in the SNP when all I wanted to do was refresh hellojetblue.com every 15 seconds.

Now it's off to Cub Scouts. Selfish little monster.

Please tell me it's blue. Is it blue? There has to be some blue in there ... right?

Arghhhhhhhh ... In the name of Bill Craine, why are they torturing me?

I say stick with the font and stripes. American is the last major/legacy with cheat lines and I love it.
