By the way, I have 2 very good friends at TSA. They don't feel I'm screwing them.[/quote]

Might want to reevaluate those friendships- they prob bash you after finish your pb&j and diet coke and depart for KALB... and if they dont... they should

How exactly is he doing that? These planes are coming to Gojet whether he is there or not.
Have you not turned on the T.V. lately? There are no jobs out there. For example there is a school just got 700 applications for one janitorial position (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,506772,00.html), so where are the other jobs you expect this person to work?

1. first kudos for starting out at second year pay, im sure that was a primary factor in your decision
2. Oh and im sure health insurance is the second, right? B/c the normal 18 month reimbursed ALPA insurance wouldnt have assited you whilst being on unemployment right?
3. you might want to reevaluate who your "friends" are at TSA

in that time, you could've have had unemployment for well over a year and the more kids you have the more money you get, STAYED AT HOME there MR. MOM, and went and did an accredited online master's program and in that 18 month or less timeframe--- gotten a degree and done somethign with it, prob making around 50-60K and had a backup in case this shizzle happens again.

you know you just cant rationalize with stupid-- heaven forbid there is some hard work and effort involved.

you pu$$ies make me sick and make me realize WTF is wrong with most of our generation I guess the survival of the fittest model doesn't apply to you, and that if i had some extra cash-- i'd buy stock in cheetos and hand lotion.

i'd write more, but i have to study and wait for my unemployment check from obama---while having insurance-( i can do some roofing work on my garage without fear of not having health insurance)-- and i love being home b/c i can whip 10 year olds on PS3 NHL '09 and talk the same trash i talk here-- oh and play on facebook, and sleep in my own bed , and play with my dog------

your pathetic excuses tire me-----

SKIPPY is tired of being tired of geauxjets

Look at the pay and the benefits. That is why they got so many applications. Its not hard to get a job but one with full benefits that don't cost an arm and a leg is a different story. There are plenty of jobs out there and in case my airline shuts down, I have a plan B, C, D, and E that does not include working for quasi-scab g0jets.

Give me a break...

edit: the fact that g0jets is hiring in this economic climate speaks volumes about the company. Think about it.

That is just such a myopic view on the situation, and you think that it is just that easy. Well I am here to tell you its not. Because my first year pay was so low at United (I guess I lowered the bar by going there to,) I only get $340 a week from the great state of Illinois, and that's with four kids. Which is less that I would make at Gojet. My wife has M.S. so she could have an attack at any time and either have extensive unpaid leave for rehab or heaven forbid lose her job. 340 a week just doesn't cut it. Then there is the issue of currency. Once you are out for 6 months the chances of you finding another flying job are slim to none. Oh and I do have a back up and its like I said, there are no jobs out there or have you not bothered to look. Rather are waiting for Obama to save you.

The feeling is mutual

I remember the next time that I look and my federal withholdings that I am helping you live the "good life" as you put it. I'm glad (not) that Obama is there to save you and spend us into oblivion. Soon you won't have to worry about your healthcare because he will give that to you free also.

Ha Ha, Shazam. Good post.

No it speaks volumes of what Glenn Tilton has done. So it would be ok for any other express carrier to expand at the expense of mainline. Last I checked Gojet has one of the highest first year pays of all the express carriers except Rebublic which has the same.

not at all

Take a look at the 5 and a half year abomination they signed (go Teamsters local 618!) last year. Pay rates mean nothing without workrules. C'mon, you ought to know that.

People that go there use that very argument to rationalize their employment.

Did I say they had the best contract? Any thing less than DC9-10 pay to fly a 70 seat+ RJ is a bad contract. All express carriers are guilty of lowering the bar, some more than others.

American Eagle has a higher first year pay than GoJets, Gojets is 23, and Eagle is 25, both suck, but just pointing out that GJ is not the highest paying of the regional carriers.

Hi.

There ARE jobs out there, but you might have to go to Kenya for 6 months to get one. Or fly for Arik Air.

If you ARE a furloughed mainline guy with time on something in demand, there are LOTS of jobs, but you may have to commute to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East, etc.

Are you by chance also furloughed from a well-known fractional company?

An inside source with Go Jet gave me the scoop. They were suppost to have several aircraft delivered in the next couple months, but the shipments got delayed, so they have put all interviews on hold. The CP has a stack of over 500 resumes already approved for interviews, if they start interviewing in the near future. Before they even get to the stack of resumes they have to offer a job to the United furloughies. That stack of 500 that are already approved are mainly furloughed Captains from many regional and even major airlines. Unless you have a lot of turbine PIC with previous 121 experience, you probably won't get into Go Jet.

But of course, what member of this site would want to go there.

It's pretty hysterical when TSA pilots start bashing GoJets contract. When THEY have the worst contract in the entire industry!!! Anyone of you Waterskiiers that have gone their in the last 5 years is a Hulas enabler and is setting the bar lower for the all of the rest of the regionals.

What, GoJet prevented you from getting a good contract? No, GoJet was going to be created regardless- it was created to get around the American Scope, not TSA scope.

Stop blaming GoJet for all of your problems. Man up, and take responsibility for your own monster that you created. You're burning your own support group every time you blame GoJet for your problems.

They probably value friendship more than work which is good of them but that certainly does not make it a good idea.

At least they have one intelligent pilot.

Yeah, that dog's gonna bite Scapjay every time he'll try to touch something in the cockpit.

At least the pilot group at TSA had enough b@lls to vote down one crappy proposal after another. Would we have not done it, you bashers would have stoned us for accepting a sh!tty contract. We show where we draw the line, even if it means no growth/shrinking or the end. It's always easier to point the finger at us from the outside.

GoJet pilots especially the ones that crossed the line from TSA are the real Hulas followers that collaborate and enable his greedy attitude. Just wait until your management learns from the Hulie oligarchy and applies the same methods to your airline.

Yep.......... UAL and Aer Lingus one step removed.

But dumb enough to follow bad advice from ALPA and Dario then blame the NMB and everyone else for the results when it didn't go your way.

What else are line pilots supposed to do? Unions always have a (little) bit of their own agenda. It's politics on the small scale: Pick your poison.

Since you mentioned Dario... The company deserved a character like him. Before you call us names and judge our decision, do you know the crappy proposals the company offered us?

10 days off, PBS, industry standard 66 seat rates, block or better? Get lost, you guys blew it and as promised Hulas agreed to up the agreement later on as he did with Gojet pilots. He was doing you guys a favor, tried to reason with you guys multiple times that you'd get a chance later for the negotiatoions but you guys wanted it all. Who turns down more flying? No one, except for TSA pilots. Look where you are now.

Yes I do know the crappy proposal the company offered. I agree..it was very crappy but you said it yourself...pick your poison. The planes with a crappy contract or vote it down and lose the planes. My opinion is to secure the flying and work on the rest of the issuses later. But, all TSA pilots want to do is blame me and my pilot group, the NMB and everyone else but themselves for the situation that they are in. I do actually feel for the pilot group and the position that they (you) are in. But, the blame game is a little old.

Those 70 seat rates that you are quoting were for 70+ infinity (meaning 70 - 80 - 100 seats same pay).

And an awesome offer of extending an already extended contract. Oh yeah - no COLA either.....

Stop believing MGT........

Good thing that we voted it down ----- now my TSA bretheren can wait for a release for self-help and turn OFF the money spicket going into the other "seperate" airline's coffers.

What do they have to lose?!!! They are slowly killing TSA as we speak........might as well burn down the whole thing GoJet along with it.......

Damn right. You have to stop the race to the bottom and be the puppet of mgt telling you "take it or the world will go under". The waterskiers that crossed the line do know this and the argument that "Hulas is just trying to run a business" does not stick. I have worked before for an individual that come from the same corner of the world than Uncle H. and I know that they'll do ANYTHING to take the maximum advantage out of you. Luckily, that just was a few months at a crappy flight school, but enough life experience to learn from a small scale.

Why do you care about the planes? What does a new CRJ or E170 do to you individually? Are you just addicted to the new plane smell? How long before you realize that those people in mgt laugh about your decision? That new plane smell is gonna wear off fairly quickly with crappy work conditions. And look at Go Jets workrules and pay now. Hardly industry leading (if we can agree on the direction).

Shrek, get the gasoline ready. I'll get matches from MW office...
