Skywest has never furloughed pilots in its 35+ year history nor does it plan to. We were recently told we will be increasing our flying out of ATL starting Feb. 1 st.

Real Classy....

Man, sorry to hear about that! I thought you guys might be able to ride this thing out...being owned by SKW with long-term lift contracts that DL doesn't want to mess with. I thought we at Comair being the WO accumulator were the only ones to get the beat-down, other than Freedom in their court case.

At least your company is offering voluntaries, unlike our messed-up management. The best I could do is a one month COLA.

Best of luck to you all. Thankfully, everyone's employed there through the holidays, unlike over here.

Lots and lots of 50 seat lift at SkyWest.

I don't hope your company furloughs but to think there is no chance of it in times like this is naive.

"We've never, ever, ever furloughed and oh, by the way, sucks you just found out you might be losing your job, we're increasing our flying in your home base when you get your pink slip..."

Erlanger, you are a 1st Class Pr!ck. Now's not the time to gloat, 3 days before Christmas and guys learning they may be furloughed come the New Year. Show a little class...

I'm throwing the BS flag on that. If it where to happen, Jerry would be an idiot. That would be a double kick to the nuts at ASA. You want to see our performance take a dump? Furloughing then increasing SKYW in ATL is a great start. Talk about killing morale. :(

What will the great Uncle Rico do for us now?

It's important to look at ALL facts. IF Skyw increases ATL service in February, it's likely to be in the CR9. ASA's block hours have already been determined thru the end of March. Mgmt has been forthright with info on the CR9. Delta DID offer them to ASA at a 1 CR9 for 2 CR2 rate. ASA and SKYW decided that such a deal was not economically positive for the bottom line. If DAL needs more CR9 service in atlanta, it wouldn't have anything to do with ASA whatsoever.
