As a furloughed Exjetter I am not shocked, but pissed off. You can make all the excuses you want, but this is the reason this industry sucks. Yeah, we may still be in the top in pay and work rules who EFFING cares. It still sucks!! When the judge takes more I have no sympathy. All that SH@# talking people at Express liked to do about Mesa and Republic, Karma is a BIT@#>

I agree. I hope any of our co-workers that come on here and rant in the future blaming our misfortunes on other carriers like Mesa are put in their place by people on this board. Because guess what, we're part of the group now.

Hello, its 2008 people!!!

Good move for XJT. I think you guys still have helped the company but still have one of the top paying contracts in the industry including work rules.

If you don't understand the XJT situation with the new CPA then quit bashing them for approving this temporary pay cut. The pilots did what they HAD to do and management did what they HAD to do by signining this cpa.

Hopefully with all groups approving the cuts then we will see better days ahead for XJT!

This guy obviosly doesnt know what year we are in and likely does not fly a 75' for DAL. The management at XJT got played bad. So in return this is the result, What, were the pilots going to vote it down. No. They are not morons. They had to vote for it to keep the company. Now XJT has to get concessions from every other labor group to survive and even then it will be a struggle.

And this guy thinks its 'temporary'........Right. And you can count that COL increase in 2010 as a pay raise! God bless the industry but the management at XJT got played and now the pilots follow like lemmings. They had no choice. Look around and think before you post........

What I find most amusing is that I still, after taking concessions, work under a contract with higher pay and better work rules than most of the XJT bashing morons in this thread.

Your work rules suck, taking the pay cut will do nothing to help the company, and you're a moron for thinking so. I'm sorry you think you were making too much money. All of us do not feel that way.

Which work rules suck? Which ones are good? Can you point out to me how XJT's defined contribution plan compares to other regionals? Can you point out to me how XJT's vacation rules compare to other regionals?

Guess what? You're going to be asked for more paycuts BEFORE Oct. 1st 2009. AND Ream just lowered company costs which will more than likely result in bonuses for management.

Anything is possible. Although I think they would file BK before they do that.

But I would LOVE for JR and management to take bonuses!;) Please do it tomorrow, November 1!!!

I care, because I can think of several contracts at other carriers that have passed since ours in 2004 and not one of them has been able to even match, let alone exceed, our contract at XJT.

Before you were even hired here we bid for and were shot down on numerous CPA's that ended up being awarded to bottom feeder carriers. When it was announced that we were losing 69 airplanes back in 2005 we fully expected management to come to us for concessions. We were all waiting for it.. but it never happened. Instead of asking for employees to take a cut to lower labor costs and play in the bottom feeder game our management invested the cash that we had on hand into starting branded. It didn't work.. so here we are. The cash is now gone and as a last resort they have asked for our help. Based on what I have seen at this company in the last 4 years I don't think our management is out to screw us. They are simply doing what they have to do to keep the place in business.

I voted yes on this LOA because based on the facts that were given I feel that it will have the best outcome for our pilot group.. with or without bankruptcy. In this scenario I'm not interested in being a tough guy or trying to "save the profession". Voting down this LOA would help save our profession as much as shooting a water gun will help put out a forest fire. That's just reality. We negotiated an industry leading contract that has been in place for 4 years now.. and no one else has been able to surpass it. It seems that most of the hard core "vote no" types on these forums either don't work for XJet or haven't been with the company for more than 2 years. The opinions often seem ego and emotionally driven, which is evident by how vocal they are.. particularly in bathroom stalls and under cockpit armrests. I have no desire to be a part of the cool tough crowd, I'm only interested in what will be best for our group in the coming months in years. That's all I have to say about it.

ExpressJet pilots= TOTAL SELLOUTS!!! Thanks for keeping that bar from falling. I don't ever want to hear an EJ pilot talking smack about Mesa, GoJet, TransStates, "enter any other bottom feeding rj airline here" etc etc.

I'm generally not a trash talker anyway, as my life isn't quite that pathetic, but as long as these carriers still don't have contracts that match up to ours I feel justified to say whatever I please.
