Did Tilton just resign this evening? Just heard a rumor on our message board.

JP--Got an ACARS message that TILTON was fired as of 1700 ORD time. I was sitting in the back when an F/A told me (she was 23 and HOT-and hitting on me) so none of this could be true..right?

UAL NEVER has HOT F/A's except tonight! SO maybe the luck is turning around here?

Sweet, sonny! (I don't know what's sweeter, a hot F/A or Tilton's resignation. OK, a hot F/A.) Hitting on you? Delusions of grandeur. ;)

I hope it's all good news from now on! Keep the faith, Blue Ridge.

23 years seniority? That'd make her about 55 . . . and having hot flashes?

Can't be 23 years old. No such thing as a 23 year old UAL flight attendant.

The rumor from a F/A that she saw on the ACARS? Cmon!

Nothing on Tilton (Yet) Here's the latest

Looks like they are cleaning house. I'd bet the new #2 will be #1 soon, though.....
Keep checking back for up to the minute reports, lol :

UAL shuffles execs

By: John Pletz June 05, 2008

(Crain’s) — United Airlines’ shakeup of the executive suite continued Thursday with the appointment of a new head of human resources.
Marc Ugol, a former human resources executive at Naperville-based Tellabs Inc. and Amoco Corp., joins United from Constellation Energy Group, a utility based in Baltimore.
Mr. Ugol is the second outsider hired in a senior management role since May 8, when John Tague was named president and chief operating officer, replacing Pete McDonald as the second-in-command to CEO Glenn Tilton. On Wednesday, United said it hired Joe Kolshak as senior vice-president for operations from Delta Air Lines Inc.doComments('29717','news');

Mr. Kolshak and Mr. Ugol join United as the airline is in the midst of a major restructuring in the face of record oil prices. United said this week it will cut about one-fourth of its fleet and trim an additional 1,000 of its 7,500 salaried and management jobs worldwide, about half of which are in the Chicago area. It previously said it would cut 500 white-collar jobs.
United, which recently decided against a merger with US Airways Group Inc., now is shrinking the airline, cutting capacity in hopes of trimming costs and gaining some pricing power as other airlines follow suit. Continental Airlines Inc., which held merger talks with United before deciding to remain independent, said today it is cutting 3,000 jobs and reducing capacity 11%, citing fuel costs that have pushed the industry into its worst crisis since 2001.
American Airlines, which employs about 10,000 workers in Chicago, said last month it would pull planes out of service and lay off workers, though it didn’t specify the number of jobs to be cut. Airline stocks, which have been battered in recent weeks, perked up on the cutbacks. United shares rose 10% Thursday to $10.11 per share, topping the $10 mark for the first time since May 21. The stock was trading above $20 per share as recently as April 21.

Sure, they've been hiring F/As on and off for the last couple years. I've seen (salivating) quite a few young' uns in the terminals. Not quite Catherine Zeta Jones (The Terminal), but definitely above par.

I actually saw quite a few young and hot female UAL FA's when I was IAD based 06-07. They of course did not care to hit on us express guys. They seemed to be only into guys flying the heavy's at the C/D gates haha.

After putting in a few new managers (after the old ones leave out the back door with carloads of cash), the standard story will be that "we've got all new management and if you guys would only work with us ONE MORE TIME, we can turn it around", or some other such BS lie.

This is so predictable, it's painful.

Just like at AA, DAL, NW, et al, pilot costs are NOT the problem, although the thieves in management will make it appear so. You saw what happened at AA when Carty took the fall and the "new" management promised a "Work together, win together" program. Well, THEY won, and we worked to pay their extravagant bonuses and perks.

Gee...

Just last year all the United pilots were saying how Tilton was going to turn the airline around and bring it back to the front again...

Too bad if Tilton leaves. I mean, c'mon, you gotta give him a chance to earn his $50 million bonus for the tremendous turnaround he is ABOUT to execute. He will save UAL for all times and it will be the best airline ever. Maybe not if he leaves...

Stalking can get you arrested ya know!

Remember... Looky no touchy, and don't get busted.

P.S.: Bev says she is still waiting for you.

Any confirmation Sonny?............

We NEED some good news...... *crossin fingers*

We saw Gordon Bethune in ORD on Wednesday. He had a whole entourage of suits with him heading toward Wacker Drive.

Unless Greg Brennaman was with him, I wouldn't get too excited.

Tilton resigning? Gordon on Whacker? You guys are cruel. Raising expectations based on F/A rumors and "sightings" (shame on you...)

Not going to get too far if you expect THEM to hit on YOU.
