Midwest getting new aircrafts????

sure you do when your campaign is going to highlight it. it's no different than Obama being a muslim simply cause he went to a muslim school in his past, but clearly you do not see the irony in the "manchurian" past (which is a joke fyi). the right getting high and mighty with regards to mccain is so hypocritical compared to how kerry (another ******************************bag) got treated with regards to his service.

there are plenty of real reasons to consider mccain a poor candidate:

a) his equating work actions with terrorism
b) his history with regards to airline pilots
c) his wife is a drug addict (kitty dukakis tactic)
d) continuation of bush's failed foreign policy
e) he has a black love child
f) two words: keating five

oops e was already used by our current president in 2000.

This is my last post in this thread that does not apply to MidEx getting new aircraft.

1) The MC was a m-o-v-i-e, a product of Hollywood.
2) McCain experienced real physical and mental torture. I see no "joke" in that, fyi...
3) "Dingleberry" is still a funny word.


Back on point, didn't Spirit, another company under the TPG shadow, just defer deliveries of their new aircraft? And now the talk is that MidEx is getting the 'Bus?

Perhaps you should have supported the merger rather than running your mouth about how great things would be as an independent airline. In any case, whether you despise AirTran or not for what they're doing in MKE, that doesn't justify your constant unfounded statements about our "desperation." We're doing just fine, thanks.

If they aren't going to put money in Spirit, you can bet the farm on them not putting another dime in Midwest. New a-i-r-c-r-a-f-t (whew) will not make Midwest profitable. Kinda like putting lipstick on a pig. Remember, if it won't make TPG money, it won't be done.
 
Exactly. They made a statement months ago saying that the only reason they were on the property was to assist NWA in the bid for control of MKE. Thats it... I highly doubt that we will ever see new aircrafts (ha ha) on our own. Now if we merge with NW then i could see some old A320's maybe coming our way. With NW pilots probably flying them...either way we're SOL!! 8

You make some valid points. I'm just going off of Posts #1 and #20. IF they are correct, that means somebody brought some money to the table. The next question would be where are they coming from? The Spirit scenario seemed like an option.

When you issue securities to raise cash for day to day operations, what would YOU call it then?

As you trannies like to point out, hey "it's business" nothing personal.

I take it the various financial reporters who labeled it desperate or wall street's views wrt AAI's 52wk low stock price doesn't show MOST people thinking AAI is desperate (as are ALL airlines) now.

The cash had nothing to do with day-to-day operations. The intent of the large cash position (20% of annual revenue) is to be able to take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves.

On the contrary, you seem to make it personal. You're mad that your beloved Timmaaaay screwed things up so bad that it got you furloughed, so your emotional response is to take it out on AirTran.

I take it the various financial reporters who labeled it desperate or wall street's views wrt AAI's 52wk low stock price doesn't show MOST people thinking AAI is desperate (as are ALL airlines) now.

Only a couple of reporters have indicated that they view it as a bad sign. Most have indicated that the large cash position is a good step forward. We're expecting a small profit in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, even with these outlandish oil prices. We're doing just fine.
