They say average 38,000 first year pay. can anyone confirm that or deny? also how hard would it be to get in LUK? thinking of leaving the regionals and looking for some info. also how much extra are hey offering for prior121 experience? thanks in advance

I don't believe they offer any bonuses for prior 121 experience as it has nothing to do with the type of flying that they actually do. However, a bonus is given for having 135 minimums.

I am not sure flying for the regionals would prepare you for AirNet's kind of flying. Its more like flying for Airnet would have better prepared you to fly most anywhere else. Nothing quite the like the vertical learning curve that takes place single pilot 135. Good Luck

Hi,

Confirmed: you'll easily make 38,000 at Airnet. With the sign on bonus ($3000 for 135 mins) and Per Diem, you'll make 38K (35+3) even with a low time run, and easily top 40K with a 5-day run or a floater position (per diem).
There's a slight risk you'd get a run that only makes you about 29-30K (+ sign on bonus), but you can usually bid a better run within a few months.

The excellent benefit package Airnet provides will probably save you lots of money on medical expenses (first $1000 paid for).

Right now they're is getting better staffed, and lately there hasn't been a bid sheet out (all runs covered). But they are still hiring.

As said above, the flying Airnet does requires you to have very solid fundamental simulator and IFR skills, being able to hand fly old six-packs with or without GPS, and flying profiles that will get you there slightly faster than your typical 121 profile. Lots wash out in the simulator training; it is very though, prior 121 or not (in my class one 121 guy made it, another failed). It seems they prefer to hire "DO_IT_RIGHT" guys with CFI/MEI licenses.

When I was there LUK was not an extremely popular base, but you can never tell. They might have hired a couple local boys from there recently. It's just luck of the draw.

Unless www.airnet.com is incorrect, we are still hiring into bases. If you have 135 mins, you can choose your base. I have a base 5 day run, and I make 38K. That is without per diem since I have no overnights. The website says call for details about any questions you have. If you take the time to call, and ask good questions, they will remember you when you apply. Pilot Recruitment loves people to want the job and are proactive about finding out about the company.

When I was there, I had one of the highest time runs. I flew 5 days and 7.8-8.0 hrs a day. Sometimes I even had to overnight at a hotel so I wouldn't go over the flight time limits. I probably cleared about 45k a year. Not bad. I love Airnet. Everytime I went for a new job, Airnet was always helping me get it. I would consider going back myself. The only time I ever griped about my job was when I was loading bank bags in the rain and when the 310's I flew didn't have radar and I had to visually pick through the storms. No one ever pressured me. I will vouch for the training, it's some of the best out there. Honestly, it was the best time of my life. Good luck!

True, but sometimes what our recruitment folks says and what our Training/Flight department offers doesn't always match. We have had some "episodes" lately, but I think they have been straightened out.

Ask about the increased salary package and then get it in writing.

The absolute minimum you will make at AirNet (As a 1st year prop PIC) will be 2155.2 before tax. You'll get 13.47 an hour and will have monthly guarantee of 160 hours. Then the bonus, overtime, charters and pr Diem.

Some runs have overtime, some don't. Some runs have overnights (pr Diem), some don't. Some bases are located such that charters come frequently (LCK being one of them) and some don't'. You get the idea!

I'm not trying to discourage you, but the reality is that we have runs that pay base and 8 on 6 off doesn't give any sort of guarantee to make any overtime. As a matter of fact you can have several check with out any extra.
I would plan my finances based on the guarantee.

I would not come to Airnet if you for any reason need a particular base in order to work here. For all you know you might end up in TEB. Our industry seems to be making a turn for the worse and when it does people stay put. LUK has always been popular and is likely to stay that way.

I've worked here a while and enjoy it! Like most places we have issues, but for the most part they treat you nice and pay is ok. Insurance is good for a single guy/gal, but not that great for a family. Our maintenance is outstanding and nobody will make you fly a broken airplane or fly in weather that an airplane has no business flying in.
