Jealous....

Jmoney has waaaaaay too much time on his hands during his Valdosta overnights. But, they are a bit more "productive" than his Flint layovers. Man, I am jealous.

Bye Bye--General Lee

All those other turd burglers are jealous of your 23 trannies in those wheelchairs! Finally got you replying to me in BOTH your screen names again... Damn, I love getting uder your skin-you 124 pounds of ego-freak!

"Paging General Lee....... General Lee...... Your other shoe was dropped in security....... General Lee, don't you want that other shoe?"

Looks like the Delta hiring board really f-ed up letting GL through the cracks. :p Bad seeds turn up everywhere I guess. Although, he is quite amusing with his almighty, I am the God of world traveling.:rolleyes:

Guys! Who cares who and when landed at a wrong airport or who overnights where reading what ever magazines.

The fact is Delta is a great place to work!

And presently, to agree with the thread's name, if you are not here yet indeed you need to hurry!

Must be a slow day for jmoney and his "man love" profile on myspace.

I bet your eyes bother you from the sunlight when you crawl out from that rock you're under!

Thanks for elevating me to God status. And, I can't help it that I fly to wonderful places, it's called seniority. Look into it.

He is not under a rock, rather in an igloo, thanks to back to back Flint layovers.

Is it still snowing up there? We can always ask the NWA guys, they probably know.

WRONG!
Delta stands for
Doesn't
Ever
Leave
The
Airport

No it stands for Destroy Every Living Tree Around
with regards to all the paper we use to dispatch.

The stuck in ATL is due to connection carriers - ASA

Always Stuck in Atlanta

Got tired of skimming the BS tossing matches in 5 pages. Apologize in advance if it has already been asked...

Delta has been looking to merge [with anyone?] since emergence from the first BC bout. Would it not be presumptuous to believe a convenient return to the BC filing process would enable a successful 'acquisition' from another legacy and permit circumventing issues like merging of Seniority Lists? If my memory serves, Top dogs hired to reorganize from the first trip would stand significant bonuses if they should gain respectable prices for shareholders in the event of acquisition irrespective of pre/post/return BC.

100-1/2

Not sure how much if any sense any of that makes. Managers will make their money with a merger, BK or not. Either way they will get paid. There is no need to declare BK just to merge seniority lists. Management could merge with anyone at any time. Delta's management has said they would prefer to have their pilots agree on how to do it, because they don't want a torqued off pilot group ala USAir East/West division. Declaring BK just to do it without a pilot agreement would have the same result as doing it outside of BK. There is no way to "circumvent" issues like merging seniority lists. That will happen either way, so not really sure where you're going with any of your questions.

Not sure if your post was an attempt at flame, because it made very little (if any) sense. If it was, PM instructordude or tankerclown, they can school you on proper flaming technique.

Aw, I've come quite fond of the 8 foot AWABS printout prior to departure where we actually use about 4 lines of it :)

Back on topic, its official, May 5th is the last class for 8-10 months. Last interview this week, keep on waiting.

Katherine Lee ... mmmm.

She and the marketing guy were on Fox either yesterday or today. GO online and check out the interview. She is better looking in the interview, IMO.
They stress that she's single too....I am sure that means some hi-roller will come along, marry her and she'll quit. But with the looks of the new ones in the training center...there will still be much eye candy to behold.

Do you know when this week the last interview will be? I'm scheduled in on Thursday.

it said the 28th, so you are probably good

Thanks. I was starting to get a little nervous there, not that I'm not nervous already. I appreciate, though. Looking forward to the whole process and hopefully joining the team.

good luck to ya, I'm on hold for at least 8 months, at least I get a shot at it as soon as they start again. Best of luck

It is official. Anyone with an interview after Friday will be put in a pool. All interviews after Friday are canceled. Those effected will get a letter in the mail. They should start showing today.
The letter states 8-10 months but I would expect a little sooner.

ERfly...

Starting to get a little bit nervous? So you will be the second or third to last Delta pilot to get hired in this round? Believe me, as a current Delta pilot, I would be glad to have you join the company and provide furlough fodder for me! But seriously, you have to ask yourself, are you going to leave your current situation to be at the bottom of a Legacy seniority list, with consolidation on the horizon? Think long and hard, ERfly, maybe you should just hang tight in your current situation for awhile!

Good luck,

Tanker1497

At the moment, might be good advice. All depends on your personal situation. Married? Kids? In debt? Financially secure?

Congrats on the job. Delta is a great place to work. However, is taking the job and facing a potentially long period of unemployment worth giving up the paycheck you currently have "in hand"???

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

How long is the pool date good for? Guys at UAL are being told that their pool date is good for only one year after the interview. With the way they're parking jets, looks like they won't be in class within a year. I assume with oil the way it is, a Delta poolie can plan on a year plus these days. And that's before any furloughs go down.

Don't know if anyone saw this, but the USA Today yesterday ran an article about oil and the airlines. They said at $110/bbl, Delta will be almost $600 million in the red for '08.

One I never believe anything that paper states. Two that does not include the almost 100 dollars worth of fare increases that have stuck in the last six months.

Also best guess is that due to the fact that 64 or so recalls have accepted for the last three classes, there will be fewer new hires than 100 coming on property.

I agree, and it looks as though he will have quite a few months to decide on whats best for himself/family.
