RB, wasn't for you, it was for our "friends" who keep bringing it up in a negative context to either disparage our pilots, maintenance, or the company in general.

Only if the FO in question is a complete whore.

PS., "Critter" went out when you were still in diapers, and your mother was looking at all the neighbors, trying to figure out where your misshapen head and pitifully tiny genitalia came from.

.

Actually, a complete whore would make closer to 180000. Been a whore before.

I still say whatever, it ain't going to happen but I am posting so there could be a chance albeit a slim one.

PS., Talk about genitalia, you ain't got any.

A sub-contractor intentionally mislabeled and loaded as COMAT a box of o2 generators on a DC-9 back in 1996. As a result the aircraft caught fire, (due to no fault of Value Jet) crashed and all perished. Now 121 aircraft are required to have fire detection and protection installed.

wasn't that subcontractor a function of value jet/air tran trying to cut corners by finding the most incompetent, cut-rate service possible, without regard for its competence?

"Due to no fault of Value Jet?" Are you kidding me? Value Jet sold the ticket. Value jet is responsible. Nice rationalization, though.

If it wasn't Value Jet's fault, then why are you Air Tran now?

So please, let's not get into this game of whose company has deposited more airframes across the landscape due to crew error, mx error or whatever reason.

I find Tanker Clown to be a rather poor reflection on our military as well, with no chance of getting hired anywhere....but you're wrong on this.

I know a bunch of mil guys who have been hired everywhere (legacy, cargo, fracs) with a fraction of the time their civilian peers have.

So I'd say the industry, or at least the hiring departments, aren't too worried about mil guys "depositing airframes across the landscape" as you arrogantly stated.

Don't worry or be ashamed where you work, please tell us, you're among friends!

Wow... I didn't realize you were on the accident investigation committee. If these were your thoughts, why didn't they make it into the final report?

Please, I'm sure we'd all love to hear your explanation about how EVERY package is opened and inspected by qualified, trained maintenance personnel to ascertain the contents and their status.

I mean, FedEx does that EVERY time when you go to a FedEx location to ship, right? Oh,,, they don't. Well, certainly UPS does, right? Hmmm... OK, the USPS would HAVE to since they're government employees and I'm absolutely positive they keep a maintenance tech around who would know how to identify depleted vs. still full O2 generators.

Yep, it's the airline's fault. How foolish of us.

I would absolutely LOVE to know who you are and where you work... please tell us. We just want to know so we can all nominate you for the C.P. gig...

If the company is too incompetent and/or negligent to hold its contractors accountable and a crash results, you're GD right it's the airline's fault. No matter which airline it is.

But it was Value Jet in this case.

Those pax bought a ticket from Value Jet, not Billy Bob's Cannister Service and Bait Shop.

I assume from your angry response that Value Jet was completely exonerated of all wrongdoing in that incident. Is that correct?

Damn right! And the poor people that died on 911 have to blame the bastards at United and American since they sold the tickets. What the hell are we doing in Irak?

Quite a statement huh?

So what airline if any do you work at?

The question was whether Value Jet was absolved of all wrongdoing.

Anyone?

I'm guessing from the huffing and puffing and changing of the subject (and the fact that it had to rename itself Air Tran) that the answer might be "no."

ValuJet was guilty for not properly supervising one of it's contractors (SabreTech). So, with that cleared up, why don't you, "huff and puff" and tell us which virtual airline you fly for?

JKE- what a putz!

Did you get that, Lear70?

Hey, JKE- what the hell is wrong with you? You're spending your time in an AirTran thread arguing about something that happened 11 years ago that no one on this board was responsible for?

HELLO= wake up call- if you don't like AirTran, that's fine, but until you have the balls to say who you work for, kindly screw off.
