I'm not bashing SWA. Although I've never wanted to work there, I've always admired their management for being the one group that actually knows what the hell they're doing, especially in employee relations. They've also had a tremendous record of profitability. So no, I'm not bashing SWA. I'm bashing pathetic little twits like yourself. Many people have bashed the "SkynAAzis" and "Deltoids" over the years, but none of them can compare to the arrogance that you possess.

Helloo pot!

I love the deteriorating nature of these threads. It starts out good enough and then evolves into General Lee blows or SWA F/O is a flight attendant in pilot's clothing. Seriously, the cockpit in a 737 looks the same at DAL, AAL, CAL, UAL, Citrus, SWA, Kittyhawk, Ameristar, etc...... What difference does it make who flies for whom? We are clearly better pilots and better looking at SWA, but there are good dudes at every airline previously listed. If you want to know how cool a pilot group is, just ask them. You all are welcome to sit on our jumpseat as long as you bring treats and offer to make a food run on one of your three stops on the way home.

I take it from your post you dont work for a profitable airline that has a great culture and emlployees that would want to protect that culture at all cost. Oh well your loss.

Yes the calibre of the high culture at your airline will ensure less than a staple for every other airline, which is inferior. I can see any arbitrator taking that side, since it makes so much sense!

Seriouslly, you passed a friendly interview that historically rejects 2/3 to 3/4 of its applicants each time around. You could be humble and admit it was mostly luck and how you did that day, or you could choose to be all proud of yourself because, since you made it, you must be the best of the best!

Maybe you could rally the SWA pilots to start a "culture fund" to nicely augment any merger fund you may have. Contracts and laws and arbitrators, Oh my! Its your superior culture that will determine the seniority number in the end, and all will go to the bottom regardless of anything else! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Just know that no one in the real world (outside of your mom and former cub scouut leader and anyone else besides yourself you impressed by passing your interview) actually cares about your airline's culture when it comes time to determine how to integrate seniority lists. You may want to get a head start on those coping skills now just in case the time comes when inferior pilots are unfairly placed above you on your seniority list. Oh, , I amost forgot to add...in spite of your superior culture!!!

But seriouslly, are you being sarcastic or are you really that stupid?

Now don't forget how dirty the ATA cockpit is, so the makes them different.

Just goes to show, you don't read very well...

I have never, ever, ever bashed Southwest. Fine airline, I appreciate the rides to and from leisure destinations now that JBlue no longer services BNA.

I do, however, tend to bash you, because you're such an easy target.

MOST Southwest pilots, including the half dozen good friends I have who work there, are very humble, laid-back guys with a GREAT attitude and would welcome whoever Southwest purchases in the future with open arms.

NONE of them are big enough tools to think they're so good that ALL the pilots from an acquisition or merger should re-interview for their jobs.

So... in a nutshell... it's not Southwest I'm bashing. It's you.

Have a great new year! :D

p.s. Whine, you crack me up... ;)

You can bash me all you want. I guess you have the only 5 friends at swa that either dont want a total staple or for anyone to reinterview. I think you need to go and look up the word culture in a dictionary because you obviously have no idea what it means. I f we didn't hire the first time why would we want you the second time around and without an interview for that matter.

I am so glad you said that, you just made my year.
Have fun at Airtran.

And I guess my friends at SWA who disagree with the ignorance you arer spewing here are also his friends too. So far you seem to be in the extreme minority with your views. There should be pages and pages of SWA pilots agreeing with you if what you say is true, but there are not.

And besides that, what if the other pilot group just magically decided that, in the event of a merger, you should all be fired and required to reinterview at the bottom of the list, if management decided to hire you? Would you accept that? What if the other pilot group thought your culture was inferior?

Do you really think any arbitrator will care who'se culture is the best? Do you think that because of your culture you will get one seniority number more oe less than someone else becasue of their company's culture? You will get a combination of what's in your contract, what's in the other company's contract, the law and most likely an arbitrator's decision. None of that will take into consideration culture for one microsecond.

The only "culture protection" you have is your management worrying enough about it to not attempt to make a move like that in the first place. If they do, you will end up in the exact same position you would have without your culture and without the interview process you are so proud that you got through.

Maybe you got a tad arrogant because you think that because your company bought some ATA assets and they only got interviews, that any and all mergers/acquisitons/takeovers/etc will go that way as a matter of your superior culture. You are both wrong in fact and extremely arrogant in opinion. Your culture will not overcome contracts and labor law, except maybe in your dreams.

DINGDINGDINGDING!!

We have a winner!

I'm very glad that, of my too-numerous-to-count commutes on SWA to DTW for 3 years straight, the many great Southwest people I met (and continue to meet) have NEVER displayed your level of sheer arrogance.

Just goes to show, there's toolbags at every airline, no matter how good the interview process. :puke:
