Wow. That has got to be up there with some of the stupidest things ever posted on FI, and that is saying something.

Nice job.

FJ

Likw you said...wow. 1367 posts on FI and that's the stupidest one you've seen? read back on some of yer own, Zippy

Just curious about your 737NG's, are they similar to SWA's with a six-pack on your displays, or do you guys use speed tape/altitude tape? We fly 737-700 at AQ on ETOPS flights and our setup/automation is very similar to 767-400 and 777.

Tapes on our airplanes.

As it is now, the 737 Captain list is very junior compared to the 717. No reason to move for most people.

Your AVTAR is a painful reminder of an entire season that I'd rather regret. I'm a Red Sox fan too, so if you have any Bill Buckner photos (vs the Miracle Mets), please feel free to post them as well.

How soon are guys getting the call to interview after they sent there app in and they had a senior CA walk there resume in. If the interview goes well how long for the class date?

Interview call times can vary. I've heard of people having their resumes walked in that NEVER get the call. Some take months, others just weeks. Kind of a hit-and-miss kind of thing.

An AIR, Inc or WIA/OBAP career fair goes a LONG way to help.

After interview, calls go out within 7-10 days, sometimes as long as 2-3 weeks, depending on Klaus' schedule (he still reviews all the hiring).

From there, I've heard of class dates being offered anywhere between 2 days to 2 months out. Rarely longer than that.

Times may vary, this is just what I've observed the last year here. Good luck!

We got tapes not the 6 pack.

I concur. Nothing for many months, then after the AIR Inc job fair I got a call within a few weeks. LORs and the job fair; that's the ticket, at least it was for me.

Upgrades on the 737/717

Things maybe slowing down a bit if Baker's info is correct. I don't have the big picture, or even a rumor, but if you read between the lines here the growth is over this year after July........

"Turbulent Ride Over For AirTran?"
Turbulent Ride Over For AirTran?
Joshua Lipton, 03.21.07, 5:38 PM ET

For the past couple of years, shares of AirTran Holdings have been among the poorest performing in the sector, one of only two large-jet operators to have shed value since the industry turnaround.

But maybe that run of bad luck is about to change.

JPMorgan analyst Jamie Baker believes that relief is potentially in sight for the airline company. In a client note posted Wednesday, the analyst argued that he's seeing a confluence of events occurring in the second half of 2007 that will contribute to earnings sufficiently ahead of consensus.

Baker wrote that AirTran (nyse: AAI - news - people ) aircraft deliveries will cease, albeit temporarily. Last October, the company deferred a total of eight 737-800s. As of this July, the delivery hiatus will begin, lasting until January 2008.

"While still experiencing significant year-on-year growth, the absence of incremental sequential capacity and costs associated therewith is expected to have a positive impact on margins in the second half of 2007," Baker noted.

Shares of AirTran surged 7.8%, or 78 cents, to $10.82 in afternoon trading on Wednesday.

Another cause for optimism: AirTran city additions will stop for a bit.

After announcing seven new cities for the first half of 2007, Baker said he doesn't expect additional announcements until sometime in the second half of 2008.

This temporary cessation should have a positive impact on margins in the second half of 2007, Baker wrote, with AirTran instead concentrating on expanding services in existing, profitable locations.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting that. We have pinched all the pennies there are to be pinched. Glad to know they are finally going to focus on the revenue side of the house.
