so the SKYBUS driver will get paid less than the Columbus OH Muni bus driver?

I dont know why the bad rant about VA, skybus plans to pay off street captains in their airbus 65 bucks an hour. Dont know if anyone else has heard about them, but they are a start up outta columbus. I heard they plan to pay Fo's around 27 bucks an hour. This coming from their future asst. chief pilot.
That's why the regionals are a huge problem. No matter how much a LCC lowers the cost structure, it's always better than the regionals.

Hey Speedbird, what is it like to come on this board and have these wannanbes to try to tell you what to do with your career? I have been there and am gone and will not look back. 20 years of lies and deceit by management and ALPA and more to come. Good luck in your future sir and do not listen to these fools.

What's a "wannanbes"? You should not talk about wannabes. Who payed for your 737 type? SWA did not hire you? All I am saying is that $95/hr on the left seat of the 320 is a shame. I wouldn't do it. Call me whatever you want. Here at NWA, 320 CA pay is at least 50% more than VA. Our pay rates are the worst. I thought we lowered the bar for everyone, but VA is a joke. Go ahead speedbird. Go work for your idol Branson and get paid peanuts!!

Just remember

When you interview the interviewer Guy or Gal is going to look were you worked. You may not be a scab by definition, but he or she will decide if you are. What I'm saying, is buy crossing a line you may be limiting yourself if things don't go well. Take a look at all the true AA guys who tried to get jobs at AAI and F9 when all the TWA guys got there first and were in positons to hire or not. The AA success rate was really low. Yes it childish but the same thing happens in all professions. Yes VA will be successful and salaries will drop so make plans now.

Wrong.

Try 95$/hr with a 70 hour guarantee.

Hmm. My calculator says that $95X70hoursX12months=$79,800 which is considerably LESS than $95,000. But then, it's several years old and probably does not do new airline math.

$80K is about 55-60% of what a PIC should be making for that type, though one must also weigh in the benefit of being in a nice, shiny jet.

Yes, this post IS childish. Maybe the laid off TWA people got the jobs first because they had up to 15 years experience flying for a major airline vs. "true" AA pilots who were there for a couple of years. (And, they knew the "true" AA pilots would go running back to the mothership the second they got their recall letter.)

There was NO blackballing at those carriers.

I'm not normally like this but take your arrogant whining and shove it up your a$$! TC

Got my type at U S airways, thanks.

Sounds like all the former independence air check airmen are over there at VA.

That means the pink slip percentage will be around 80% or so.

If you're currently on the street why wouldn't someone take left seat $95/hr. Sounds good for the guys who lost their jobs. Ground floor most senior capts getting hired first. If I needed a job I'd go...but alas, I don't need one :=)
