And what if they are not? What if they get stuck there when all the growth is done? What if they live in one of the bases where there are no RJs and want to stay on the airplane? What if they just like the plane and their seniority on it? I guess that's punishment for doing the hardest flying at the company.
This is utterly false BS that has been fabricated by someone. For about the third time, I am asking for verifiable references regarding this language...
Anyone?
I didn't think so.
Note: If this language can actually be verified, I will experience a dramatic change in political philosophy...
I'm glad I got outta SKYW when I did.
Got Alpa
Our profit margin is not that great, around 5% post tax, maybe 8% pretax. I get a little tired of people talking about record profits. Yes it's true, but it's the profit margin that really matters. If our profit margin goes much lower then we start having problems getting the best financing deals and if we loose that advantage then we'll be looking at pay cuts for sure.
I think they can afford to do better than this package, but we should be realistic about the position managment is in.

As SKYW looks at margin, whether it's operating margin or earnings before tax (EBT) margin, it's being impacted by the increase in fuel prices where the Co. is capped at a certain level at which it obtains margin on some of the fuel costs. 2. For the remaining fuel costs, although 100% reimbursed by the Co.'s major partners in contracts line, SKYW doesn't get a margin on a portion of that. 1. As fuel prices have continued to increase, it has tended to pull margin down. 2. But at the same time, the Co. is still generating the absolute dollars of net income that it has expected. What is the gain in voting no? A show of solidarity?
What do the bro folks think? A solidarity vote or a small CRJ raise (that you can enjoy if you transition)?
Honest question here...
YES A SOLIDARITY VOTE!
C'mon rickair, I thought you were better than that.
I asked honest questions in my last post too.
I am sure if you were on the Bro you would feel differently.

Call ALPA. It's not BS. That language was in the Port Security Bill signed by the president. Luckily ALPA lobbyists were able to get it removed. Bush hates unions with a passion. We're lucky that Congress has been cleansed of the GOP majority. Those are politicians that would support allowing Chinese airlines to fly point to point in the US. They already started doing that by allowing Asian cargo carriers to make a fuel stop in ANC before continuing to the US east coast.
Know your enemy is all I can say. If putting food on your table and providing a future for your children matters to you, back the PAC. That is if you intend to remain in the piloting profession.

I called alpa national. They don't know a thing about it, but said they would do some research and get back to me.
There are also no press releases on their web site regarding this.. You'de think something this significant would be worthy of public mention.
And SAPA (Selling out All Pilots Apologetically) aka the SKYW future management club is encouraging everyone to vote yes by proclaiming it as a giant victory.
I love it!
Well, I emailed all these schmucks and they didn't even have the decency to write me back.......things that make ya go hmmmmmm
