Dec 11 Calls

Calls are still going out (yesterday and today) for the Dec 11 class date. At least 4 of the May 18/19 interview group have gotten the call. Update "pee" test and training package for the Dec 11 class will follow. One call does it all. As said before, 30 slots all SOs. Looks like it will be a "Purple Christmas" after all. Cheers...ExAF:D

Call for Dec 11th

Got the call from KD yesterday. Dec 11th SO. Interviewed 24/25 May with 3 other poolies. At least 2 of us have received the call for class. Airfish- any calls yet? Anyone know what the routine for training will be during Christmas week?

Congrats guys.

Guess on Christmas week for those starting on the 11th: Normal classes up until that Fri and then the wknd and Xmas day off, maybe a day or two after that. Then back to salt mines. That is just a guess, maybe some folks who have been in class over the holidays can shed some light on how it worked for them.

Congrats again.

When I went through training a few years ago with the same setup we had the whole week off during the holidays. I believe X-Mas was on a Sunday and we took basically a week and a half off........from that Thurs till the next Tuesday. Granted that was many years ago.........maybe those guys getting calls can ask KD but I'm sure she can't give a concrete answer.

On the meet&greets I have been told they will start back up in January at the earliest. I am sure we will get an e-mail via VIPS and you'll know within the hour on this website when they'll start up again. Will be interesting to see the protocol this time around..............

Good luck to all the newbies...see you on line soon!! You're gonna love this place!!

Anyone from the 30 May interview date get a call?

Any thoughts on how deep the pool will be emptied since the Dec 11 class has approx 29 or 30 newhires?

11 Dec schedule

One of the guys in my group called KD about the schedule for the 11 Dec class. Looks like indoc 11-19 Dec, off from 20 Dec to 2 Jan and ground training on 3 Jan. Just passing the info along....

No way?! I can't believe that info about the holiday break. That would be pretty dang cool. I am not counting chips until we make it to the first day of class.

Hmmm... If that is true, I wonder what us Dec 4th bubbas will get?

Ygbsm!!!

Last week, my sponsor (a mgt type in the tng dept), told me a couple(?) of pilots in the pool turned down training dates because their old legacy airline (Delta) called them back off furlough.

Given the events of this week, all I can say is, WOW.

More Dec 11 calls

A guy in my interview class (May 30/31) got the call today for Dec 11.

Fingers crossed, staring at the phone!

For what is worth- Dec 11th training sked

My buddy just started class and they are getting from Thanksgiving until Dec 6th off from training. So I guess the Christmas schedule for the Dec classes sounds reasonable...however, I will believe it when I hear it from the instructor the first day.

I would have to agree with you there Hag! All I can say is NFW. 2nd year I will almost double my salary compared to 7 yr DC9 pay at NWA. Not to mention quality of life is in the toilet there! Happy Purple Christmas!! : ))) Congrats on the class date! No longer LOA

Does anyone think that the rumored Delta furloughees that gave up training dates to return to Delta will make it harder for other furloughees to get an interview?

You mean some have gone back, (to Delta), recently? I got a buddy here in Dallas who is a DAL Captain begging me for an interview at FDX. If there were some INSANE enough to go back to Delta, then yes I would say that would hurt the chances for others

Keep the faith poolies! I'm sure you will all receive your towels soon enough.

By the way, the kool-aid is great over here.....popcorn too.

i wonder how much popcorn the pilots as a whole eat everyday. it seems that everywhere i go there is popcorn and i find myself eating some and i don't even like popcorn.

DO NOT EAT THAT POPCORN! It's been genetically engineered to make you drop dead the month after your 60th birthday. The perpetrator, and the reasons why it's been altered, are obvious. The amount of money the company saves by not having to pay pilot's retirements for very long is staggering. It was originally programmed to happen at 60 plus 1 day, but that was to obvious.

I've also heard that the rampers spit in the coffee jugs, but that's another thread.

Pool is dry????

I heard from one of the guys in my interview group that the calls went out through June for the 11 Dec mega-class. JDriver/wannaBrich....any truth to that one? On a separate note, I talked to KD to confirm dates for the holidays (to let my part time job know) and she confirmed indoc 11-19 Dec with about half of us starting ground school the first week of Jan and the other half about 1-2 weeks later. Just the latest info I've heard......
How bout them Tigers!!

Not Yet

Still floating ... two of our group got the call, so the line went right through us at May 30/31. January it should be.

I am still swimming!

As far as I know, no one from my group in June has been called. A fellow squadron member told me that not everyone in his interview group (18/19 May)was called for the 11 Dec class. I recall reading a post somewhere that some folks (not all)in the 30 May interview group got called for the 11 Dec class.

Looks like I will see wannabrich in January. BTW, any info on January class dates?

Yep, I hope to be there. I haven't heard anything on a class date but it could be late Jan if the previous class isn't really starting until January anyway.

I'll pass on any info I get when I get it.

I received two FedEx letters this week while I was on a AF reserve mission. One dated 20 Nov said indoc began on 20 Dec. The next day, I received a letter dated 21 Nov that said indoc began on 11 Dec. I know KD told me the class is 11 Dec, but did this happen to anyone else? I'm going to call Monday AM just to be sure, but I'm sure it's a mistake.

Enjoy your weekend. See ya in MEM.

Bypassed

WannaBrich/Jdriver....out of our five in the pool, one has still not gotten the call. Not sure why.....good luck to ya'll.

Could it be possible be that those who did not get called were on furlough from another airline? A few messages back there was some talk of DAL furloughees passing up training to return to DAL. Could this be the backlash from the decisions of others? I dont know, but the true reason for not calling some folks and calling others past them boggles my mind. Then again, I am from south Louisiana and we got us sum gud places of some book lerning down dare....doesnt take much to confuse us folk dat aint from da city:)

Either way, as long as I am tossed a towel to dry off sooner or later I will be happy.

Dec 4 class holiday skeds

Just talked to the BI foks in Memphis. Those of us in the Dec 4 class will have 3 or 4 days off at Christmas and 3 or 4 days off at New Years. If you get 3 days at one then you get 4 on the other. There will be events in between and they will sort out who is doing what once we get there.

Don't know if anyone still reads this thread but I thought I'd put it out (besides, this thread can't fade away yet - keep it alive).

See you Monday.
