It's come to our attention (salute) on another thread that there might be a bloke or two in FI land who does not know what a "Kernal" is, and what behavior earns someone that moniker.

So, we'll let jeff fox worthy style lines clear it up for confused:

I'll start:

If you use the word "tactical" in social situations or employee vans, you might be a kernal

If you don't already know what a "Kernal" is and this is an educational thread, you might be a Kernal

I your "personality" consists entirely of an OD broomstick in your arse, well you might just be a Kernal.

If you always refer to the plane as 'the jet', as in 'we keep the jet' or 'it's a good jet'

or

you say 'checking in' or 'with you' or 'on board' during your first transmission on a new frequency

or

your rigid adherence to procedures to the detriment of the 'mission' (another good kernal word)

or

your perfectly cleaned and pressed uniform, including hat, helps hide your mediocre flying skills and dismal lack of personality

or

you refer to the school in Colorado Springs as 'the Academy' or worse, the 'Zoo'

or

you could just be an idiot.

Or, you are a commuting pilot and never stop in to say hello and thanks for the ride to the working crew.

You utter the slang "viper" "crud" or Luke" you're a tool.

If you use the words "tally-ho", "roger wilco", "bogey", "bandit", and/or insist on shouting "guns!" every time another aircraft passes within a mile, you are definitely a tool-bag Kernal.
