i just left xjet after 7+ yrs...things may have changed (been a good few yrs since i did a full training cycle) but you usually do 5 on, 2-3 off (weekends off 1st few weeks), then you do aircraft training (ground school, ftd, sim)..schedule for that can be 5 on or as little as 2 on in a row with various days off..xjet gives you positive space transportation (aka confirmed seat, not standby) to/from training on days off. by far one of the best training departments in the industry! good luck!

Where did you go to after leaving XJT? Just curious, thanks!

Never went more than 5 days in a row, and even had up to 4 days off at a time. Used the positive space pass to go home when I could. One of the best regionals out there right now, and gets even better once flying on the line.

Per the contract you cannot go more than 6 on in a row, usually it's 5 on and 2 off. Weekends off where they positive space you home if you want to go.

To elaborate, the CBA also states, "Ground school will not exceed 5 consecutive days during any 7 consecutive day period."

When do you find out where you will be based?

Typically sometime during systems. 2-3 weeks in. But from what i hear its has been taking longer to hear but that probably is because of adding the new bases.

apparently we need longer training...people, no nerd here or anything, but read your FILs and maybe open a book once in a while-- no need to complain to the ramp controller that "...my jepps dont show the new spot 2" or to maintenance the "monitored app briefing is missing from the new QRCs"...give me a break, utterly embarrassing...spot 2's been around for almost 2 weeks now!!! heard both today, just venting here because the crackpipe is locked up.....

Couldn't find spot 2 eh...must've been one of those newark crews (only joking of course).

This is the new address for the pipe: http://www.expressjetpilots.com/the-pipe/

you know, it wasnt the fact that they didnt know where it was, it was the snooty tone of the pilot's questioning/complaining to ramp control........oh well

apache 5 is a nerd!! who gives a crap if they ask where it is. CLE's new spots sure as hell confused me when they first came out with them

How many hours are you XJT guys able to credit for pay on the line?

I have been doing over 110 a month for the past few months.

119 last month and 124 this month!! being senior helps

I dont commute though which is the biggest help.

I usually get between 80-90. But I commute and like my time off. Superpilot92 is a pure capitalist and lives in base. He can score over 100 month without giving up much time off.

I keep telling you to move to H-TOWN but you wont listen!!:D Now when does that Perm Bid close so i can give up my Senior FO seat to the next guy?;)

I think that they/we could absolutely use some more training about FILs and such.

...it is gone over, but early and quickly....after that the training gets pretty intense. On day one of Basic Indoc there was an entire presentation on coair and the like. Who is going to remember any of that by week two of systems?

Not complaining, and maybe no one else had a problem. However, there is a finite amount of room in this block of wood.

dude- you go on ccs, go to "mycoair" under the "other" tab, then its off to "ExpressJet" under "CO Divisions", then "XJT Flight Ops" and there are all your FILs.....

I agree, it could be more easily reached, but its still not hard and its everyone's job to know the info and guidance that is put out by the company...how else are they to communicate information to 3000 pilots? And with the future of XJT on the line now and in the near future, we all need to ensure that we're doing the best, safest, and most efficient job possible. One last thought, its not just new taxi procedures or spot diagrams that are passed along in FILs--this info may not be as life and death as other info, such as "how to correctly stick the tanks" thanks to the Shreveport flame out.

Uh, "dude" I know that. I know that, after I asked questions of other pilots. I was not really exposed to that in training. I understand how important it is....kind of my point.
