67.5%!!! Glad to see all those pilots who said they wouldn't give a cent bend easily.

Does anyone know of a job where you can get paid commission based off of how much of a pay cut you can convince pilots to take? You could make a killing.
 
Can anyone think of a time in history where a paycut at a regional did anything to save the company?

Its sad when employees think they need to bail out their management's bad decisions and then think management will be responsible with the money that they're being given.

Not defending the vote one way or the other, but can you explain how this is racing to the bottom?

To race to the bottom would imply being below someone else.
Sorry we set a bar that NO ONE was willing to match.
So what would you do? Continue with the highest bar while you go out of business or step back to the collaborative group (minus one) and move forward as a group.
Setting a bar does NOTHING unless someone can clear it.

But keep in mind that management had a gun to their head when signing this cpa. They had to give the "savings on the magnitude of..." or lose all CAL flying.
 
When you justify a downward move in wages by comparing to even lower wages at a competitor you are only perpetuating the problem.

I corrected your graph.:) But I wouldn't say that no one was willing to match. Sometimes you just don't have the leverage to do that.

I will concede your point, but would you also agree that by not meeting or exceeding the levels set forth by others, complicit in their downfall, you are doing the same thing?

And how would letting the leading contract in the regional segment disappear not perpetuate the problem as a lower contract would take over the flying.

What is perpetuating this is the fact that there is no national seniority list. Or at the very least, the ability to go across corporate lines with longevity and seniority if your airline goes out of business and another one takes over its flying.
